Golden and hazy with tonnes of sediment floating within. Topped with 2 fingers of fast fading white head.
Smells of fresh pineapple juice, and hints of plastic like yeast.
Tastes of crisp pineapple juice, wit style peach, yeasty quality and a hint of bitterness on the end. Really light in the flavour profile.
Extremely light, watery body, and crisp carbonation.
Drinking on the lake in Ontario, December 1st 2017. The name led me to expecting more, but for a pale wheat ale, its ok, not loving it, but really light.

From a 473ml can served straight from the fridge at 8 degrees Celsius into a white wine glass. Packaged on date: 17.5.2017.
Look: The beer pours a veiled yellow/pale gold with 2cm of white, frothy head that fades into a partial film in 2+ minutes. Mediocre head with poor lacing.
Smell: Mild strength and sweet. Faint tropical fruit (pineapple) with relatively prominent hops that have a fresh, vegetal character along with some floral notes. At 15 degrees Celsius the ethanol starts really coming through transforming the aroma from uninspiring to unpleasant. Sniff (and drink) it cold as the can suggests.
Taste: Medium-light intensity with surprisingly bitter balance, especially at 29 IBU. Pretty much equal to the aroma, yet worse. There's a strong minerality that seems to build with each consecutive sip to the point of offensive. Notes of faint pineapple that are overpowered by the leafy hops. A bit of a chore to drink. I taste butyric acid as the beer has warmed up to 15 degrees Celsius.
Feel: Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Quite dry and thinner than I would like. No apparent alcohol until the beer warms. I would venture to say a little acrid.
Overall: Lake of Bays Wild North Piña Grande is decent in looks but not worthy in terms of aroma and especially flavour. I'm all for subtle special ingredients but I'm surprised how little the pineapple comes through in this brew. Characterless with an unpleasant flavour and finish. I don't recommend this to anyone and I won't be buying it again. Sorry LB – this beer is not just dull but plain bad.

Standardness, Ahoy! Nothing particularly remarkable. Beats a macro lager. No pineapple or trademark wheat flavours. No bad flavours either? It's "OK".

I've never been a big Lake of Bays guy. I just find their stuff way too ordinary. Case in point here. It's drinkable, but not memorable or distinctive in any way. None of the nastiness that you can get with some macros, but none of tbe character of a proper craft beer, either. Safely bland.
Pineapple? Oversold.

Pours a lightly hazed straw-yellow colour, topped with one centimeter of foamy white froth that proceeds to dissipate within the next minute or so. A thin collar remains in place afterwards, along with a respectable coating of lace. The aroma is mild and subdued, with grainy, crackery wheat malt sweetness alongside some lemony citrus and barely perceptible pineapple juice. Pretty pedestrian thus far.
Hmm. Fairly straightforward in terms of flavour - grainy pale malts and crackery wheat sweetness play a muted background role, but the hops don't really take full advantage of the available spotlight. There's some grassy, floral notes, as well as subtle hints of indistinct citrus, melon and a laughable whimper of pineapple. What gives - did it all ferment out or something? The finish has some gentle floral bitterness, followed by a dry aftertaste. Light in body, with relatively low carbonation that results in a soft, smooth, almost creamy sort of mouthfeel - probably the only aspect of this beer that didn't leave me wanting. Easy to drink quickly, and not much good for anything else.
Final Grade: 3.23, a C+. My biggest question about Wild North Piña Grande is as follows: why go out of your way to have the marketing droids talk up the pineapple juice when it's barely even noticeable on the nose, and almost impossible to discern at all in the flavour profile? It's almost as if they were *trying* to rustle our jimmies - and the premium price point is like an added kick to the shins. This is a boring, mediocre, uninspiring light beer - I'd be surprised if they even bother bringing this one back next year, given the lackluster reviews I expect it to (continue) receiving. Back to the drawing board, I think.

A different beer experience. Would be ideal to add in a beer tasting to change things up. At 29 IBUs and 4.2% ABV, a fairly light summer brew. Didn't live up to the hype however, needs a stronger backbone to be memorable.

Appearance - Semi clear, tepid golden color with some haze. A small half finger of white is poured and dissipates in moments. Some semi formed curtain-ish shape of lace sticks to the edge of the glass.
Smell - Mostly grain, with a super faint trace of pineapple. I can barely tell if it's there. No off, flavors, but not really a big nose and the promised pineapple is lacking.
Taste - Again its grainy, with some element of sweetness although that's more from the grain than tropical pineapple. Slight bit of leafy hops.
Mouthfeel - Smooth, light, just enough carbonation, dry finish. Lacking creaminess often found with a wheat ale.
Overall - I think this is intended to be a beer that isn't really for beer lovers and it kind of misses the mark. Not enough of the special ingredient of pineapple juice to get this close to the radler craze that has taken off in recent years, nor enough to cover up with what I find to be an unispiring beer. Nothing terribly wrong here just kind of meh, and with such a promise of pineapple flavors (either via hops or via special ingredients), i was left rather disappointed.
