Blind bought 6x cans after really enjoying their Starboard New England I.P.A.
Straight up, this is basically coors light with a hoppier taste and it finishes harshly. It has a very strawlike, dull and airy taste. The after taste is pretty gross too. I was being very complimentary with my markings because I enjoy their other beer and the companies image, but this one fell short to me. Id buy it any day over macro but for craft beer prices there other offerings are better by far.

Misty gold body, fine bubbles trailing the glass, cloud white head, pillowy and with strong retention.
Aroma of pale, bready malt, lightly floral, very mild.
Soft caramel flavour, balanced from the start with fruity (pulpy, citrusy, some pine) and spicy hops; feel is a touch buttery, with champagne-like carbonation, it's full and luxurious; dry lingering finish.
Nice balance of flavours, and just enough of that flavour to keep it interesting without being too much; could drink loads of this, though the hop bitterness is a bit pithy.

Thick white head that dissipates quickly, leaving nice glass lacing.
The beer is pale yellow, slightly hazy, and there are lots of ascending bubbles.
Not much smell. Some white bread and that’s about it.
The taste is citrus and light hop bitterness.
The beer is light bodied. The mouthfeel thin and watery.
Finish is crisp and dry.
I quite enjoyed this. I do wish the aroma had more to it but that aside it’s a pleasant brew on a summer day.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. A $3 purchase from the LCBO. packaged 03 04 18.
Appearance - Very mildly hazy pale golden ale. Foamy head of three quarters of a finger sits on top. No lacing and modest retention. Few visible bubbles.
Smell - Leafy and weedy hops with a dense bready grain aroma. Lemon is quite present too. Not alot else, but inviting simple and seemingly well executed.
Taste - Lots of grain up front, mildly roasted. Lemon is present throughout. Some citrus but the hops lean weedier varieties. White pepper to close. I get a slightly buttery taste to the whole beer as well. Bitterness is middling.
Mouthfeel - Carbonation is bright and effervescent, astringency and hot peppery finish. Body is pretty light, but more sticky than I'd expect.
Overall - Paddle On is a fine, easy to drink pale ale, that isn't like to impress most BA's but certainly isn't bad either. Lake of Bays continues to progress as this is added to a growing array of reasonably good hop forward ales.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 4 2018 and served slightly chilled.
Pours clear golden-yellow, with more than a finger's width of frothy white foam situated atop; it fizzles off at a brisk pace, leaving behind a wide, soapy collar and a messy swath of lacing in the process. The aroma is not particularly attention-grabbing, but still generally easy to like - some grainy pale malts overlap with suggestions of orange, lemon zest and lightly floral hops.
Nothing wrong here; it's a pretty good light pale ale, but not much more. The background is light and clean, consisting mostly of grainy pale malts with a hint of doughy sweetness, but it is the hops that tend to hog the spotlight, especially towards the back end of the sip. Citrusy hints of lemon zest and orange give way to some mildly floral aspects, with just a faint wisp of pine; some slight earthy bitterness then dissipates quickly into the aftertaste. Not exactly dry, but leaning in that direction I suppose. Light in body, with average carbonation levels that lightly prickle the palate, resulting in a fairly crisp, refreshing texture - certainly not a bad trait for a session ale. Excellent drinkability; I polished off my can within ten minutes, if you discount the time I spent typing out this review as I did so.
Final Grade: 3.84, a worthy B+. Lake of Bays' Paddle On is a serviceable session ale, though I wouldn't say it's one that stands out from the crowd in any notable manner. Significantly better than that pineapple stuff they were pushing last year for sure... but still, there are a hell of a lot of quality pale ales in Ontario these days, and I don't know how often I'd opt for this one over my various favourites. A straightforward, quaffable brew that I have already given far too much thought; give it a shot with an open mind and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Pours on the lighter side of gold with a pure white frothy head. Tropical and hoppy on the nose. I detect grassy notes and a bit of citrus on the taste. Bitter enough to be refreshing. This is a great lower alcohol summertime ale perfect for the deck or the beach. I could easily have too many of these
