Pours hazy amber with a rocky, long lasting head. Caramel malts and tropical, mango hops in the nose. The taste is malt-centric for an IPA with layers of bready, Christmas pudding malts competing with a solid wall of tropical hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation. Medium bitterness and lots of lingering malt graininess in the long finish.
A good IPA with more balance than most these days. Worth a try if you like IPAs on the maltier side.

Look: Medium cremesickle orange colour, with a dense yellowy white tightly bubbled 2 finger head. Head has good retention, at 5 minutes there is still a 1/4 finger head across the entire top.
Smell: Tangerine, mango, cantelope, with an interesting Dove soap like smell behind the citrus.
Taste: Tangerine and pineapple stands out from the front end to the back. Definately not as juicy as one expects in a NEIPA. Finishes with a dry bitterness. It has a creme sickle like quality, not so much in the sweetness, but in the artificial orange taste.
Feel: Almost seltzer like, with a dryness and sharp finish. Unexpected for the style, but not off putting.
Not a sweet juicy bomb NEIPA, as most brewers lean towards. This has a muted sweetness and crisp dryness that is an interesting take on the style. Lovely can art, but the beer it's self only earns a passable B.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for around $3.35 CDN. Canned 08/09/20
Appearance - Hazy dark copper color with a small white cap on top. Trace amounts of lacing.
Smell - A little pineapple, overripe mango and some sharper citrus like grapefruit. Generally caramel malty aroma backing this up.
Taste - Lots of caramel malt, almost buttery with a little bit of mango and citrus. Certainly not really juicy. Mildly bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium- heavy bodied, a bit creamy and carbonation is fairly light.
Overall - Passable beer, but so many different options. Not sure why I keep getting tricked into trying their new stuff, the best of it is only above average, and I'm not sure Foghorn even meets that threshold.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated 08/09/20 and served barely chilled.
Pours hazy golden-amber, fitted with one finger of soapy, bubbly white head that falls apart within two minutes or so. A lovely coat of even lacing now coats the glass, with a tight collar being the only other surviving remnant; looks about right for the style. Smells fruity and a little floral - I'm getting bubble gum, orange, papaya and melon, with hints of lime, berries and pineapple. I rather like what's there, but it could do with a bit more intensity and/or 'oomph'.
It's alright - there's a grainy, wheaty pale malt backbone that is largely obscured by the Cashmere and Mosaic hops. Fruity at the forefront, with notes of melon, pineapple and orange dominating at first, followed by some floral, pithy, herbal, minty hop bitterness towards the finish; kind of astringent, too. Light-medium in body, with low carbonation levels that gently agitate the surface of the palate; feels smooth and a little slick on the tongue. One serving is easy enough to toss back, but it's not something I feel the need to repeat right away.
Final Grade: 3.73, a B grade. Foghorn Juicy IPA is about what I expected - a serviceable effort, but not exactly a superlative result... or in other words, I liked this beer, but I didn't love it. Specifically, it was a little more bitter and not quite as 'juicy' as other domestic examples of this style - not the worst sins an NEIPA can commit, but it can't help but affect the rating. Lake of Bays has been attempting to up their IPA game over the past year or two with mixed levels of success, and I encourage them to keep it up in the future.
