Poured a 2finger creamy head hazy orange color.
Taste is lots of tropical fruit flavors mango and Ginger with a medium to high bitterness level.
Sweet and strong just sipping on it but refreshing. Beer .
Leaves a good lace as you drink it.

Pours cloudy, murky brownish red with a frothy everlasting head. Lemon drops, white grapefruit, pine, caramel malts and a bit of butterscotch in the nose. The taste is malty with fruity, berry, apply esters interfering with the citrus, tropical hop profile, The mouthfeel is full bodied with light carbonation. The finish is lightly bitter with plenty of malt notes and a booze edge.

Very malty and estery with an anemic hop profile, I wouldn't recommend.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 7 2021 and served slightly chilled.

Hazy golden-orange colour, topped with one finger of foamy, soapy white head that dissipates within five minutes or so; a lovely doily-patterned coat of lacing has been imprinted in its wake, with a frothy collar and thin cap also remaining in place - looks great. The aroma is a little bit muted, but leans towards tropical fruits and berries - cantaloupe, mango, peaches in syrup and lychee are what I'm getting, along with hints of bready, lightly caramelized malts and wheat.

A pretty good IPA - the (initially) fruity hops provide flavours of melon, mango and stone fruit, which are well-balanced by bready pale malts, wheaty grain and a light caramel sweetness. Hints of peach, passion fruit and cranberry at the finish, with pithy, floral bitterness lingering into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with average carbonation levels that gently agitate the palate, resulting in a smooth, somewhat frothy-soft texture that feels pleasing on the tongue. The alcohol is well-integrated - I mean, you can tell it's there, but 'boozy' is not the word that comes to mind.

Final Grade: 3.78, a B+. I enjoyed my glass of Stand Down, and wouldn't be opposed to picking it up again in the future. Not quite an 'old-school' IPA - both the malt flavours and the bitterness sort of emulate that feeling, but the berry/tropical fruitiness sends the flavour profile on a whole 'nother trajectory. It's also definitely not an NEIPA, even though the haze might lead you to believe that at first. An interesting pale ale, one of the Lake of Bays' better efforts in this category, and worth trying IMO.

473 ml can purchased from LCBO for $3.50 CDN. Canned 3/22/21.

Appearance - Pours dark honey brown brew with a finger of white head on top. Plenty of haziness.

Smell - Somewhat tropical with some low hanging berries on the nose, blueberries are in there maybe with blackberries and cranberries. Tropical notes are sweeter and lighter, hints of orange and stonefruit.

Taste - Some berry fruitiness, a bit sweeter but not cloying elements of ginger and brown sugar. A bit on the boozy side. Bready qualities throughout.

Mouthfeel - Medium full bodied leaning towards full; carbonation is soft and finish is medium dry. Upon further review, body is quite full.

Overall - Unusual, but this might actually be my favorite LOB IPA. Pretty balanced between sweet, bitter and spicy, carbonation and body are about right. No complaints.

Pours fresh apple cider in colour with a bit of a head. The smell is bitter and has hints of bread. The taste is also bitter and hoppy with berry notes combined with a bit of citrus. Very boozy feeling, full bodied.
