473ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for about $3.50CDN.
Appearance - Dark cola brown with some clarity and a finger of tan head. Moderate staying power.
Smell - A little dark chocolate and some light roastiness. Dark bread as well.
Taste - Matches the nose with roasty flavors and a hint of chocolate overlaid a bready backbone. Not intense, but surprisingly good depth of flavor here.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, good carbonation and soft easy to drink qualities. Very easy finish.
Overall - Honestly, relative to the competition this is certainly one of LOB's best beers ever. It doesn't wow, but is a very solid dark lager that drinks easy and is enjoyable. Can happily see myself picking up a couple more.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 22 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours an inky cola brown colour with garnet red highlights; seated atop is over two fingers of fluffy, foamy, light beige-coloured head that falls back at a steady pace. A little over five minutes later, a frothy collar and patchy cap of suds remain, with a couple rings of messy lace clinging to the glass - lookin' good so far. The aroma is fairly typical of a dark lager: roasted malts, graininess, caramelized sugars and molasses, with suggestions of dark chocolate and a touch of herbal hops.
It tastes of roasted malts and caramel at the forefront, with hints of grainy sourness and metallicity; notes of molasses & dark fruit develop by mid-sip. Finishes roasty, with dark chocolate and coffee fading to caramel and burnt grains, concluding with a dry-ish aftertaste. Light in body, with low carbonation that meekly rolls along the surface of the palate, adding some resistance to its generally soft, smooth mouthfeel. Great drinkability: the low abv helps, but so does the balanced, inoffensive flavour profile.
Final Grade: 3.58, a B grade. Lake of Bays' latest dark lager is nothing to write home about, but it's also fair to point out that this is one of those styles I have never developed much of an affinity for. That being said, I've tried enough of them to know that Moonstruck is a decent effort - pretty flavourful for only 4.2%, and worthy of a half-hearted endorsement, at the very least. I'd drink it again, and might even buy another can or two while it's still around.
