Our latest brew is refreshing with pink bubble gum and floral aromas that lead into fruity and lemongrass notes in the body. A full finish on this White IPA reminds you that after a satisfying run, you’re ready to settle in. 50 IBU

473ml can served cold into a a snifter. LCBO purchase for around $3.75CDN. Ellegible canning date.
Appearance - Moderately hazy, rich golden color with a decadent and frothy three plus finger head. Great staying power and some bubbles are visible in the glass.
Smell - Powdery donuts, yeasty with some apple skins and orchard fruit. The nose is actually quite good on this.
Taste - Fairly bitter, heavy handed with the malt properties and then excessively bitter in the aftertaste. The powdered donuts and yeastiness is still there with some sharp clove as well. Lacking the fruitiness that was so inviting in the nose. Grapefruit pitch and lemon are the two flavors that show up most. The excessive bitterness softens as the brew warms up.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied, very dry finish with plenty of carbonation. Finish is a bit too dry.
Overall - The potential for very good things is there with Last Run, however the overbearing bitterness after such a satisfying introduction docks this beer a whole bunch for me. That said, some who enjoy an unbalanced beer may really enjoy it. That being said, from looks and smell alone, this was on track to be my highest rated LOB beer ever. Worth a tipple.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Oct 30 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow colour, generating just over two fingers of soapy, foamy white head that lasts for the better part of ten minutes. It leaves behind multiple rings of delicate, sticky lacing, in addition to a generous collar and bumpy, frothy, quarter-inch cap - looks fantastic so far. Wheaty, spicy aroma with clear signs of Belgian yeastiness - bubblegum and clove, with hints of lemon, stone fruit, mint and herbal hops. Aromatic and inviting.
It tastes fine - maybe a slight let-down, given how the nose piqued my interest. Grainy, crackery, wheaty flavours serve as the backdrop, with notes of lemon, grapefruit and apricot developing by mid-sip. A little busy on the back end, with bubblegum, clove, dank/herbal hops and floral, earthy bitterness blended together; weakly citrusy aftertaste with persisting yeast spiciness. Medium in body, with assertive carbonation that prickles the palate relentlessly, resulting in a crisp, somewhat frothy mouthfeel. Fair drinkability - one can is no problem, but multiples would quickly become tiresome.
Final Grade: 3.7, a B grade. Lake of Bays continues to chug along at an impressive pace - I haven't been counting, but it seems like there's something new at the LCBO from these guys every month. Last Run White IPA isn't half bad, combining some of the aspects that I like about Belgian IPAs with a decidedly American hop profile. I've had better, but considering that this is one of my least-favourite subtypes of IPA, it's a pretty decent effort. I wouldn't turn one down - try it and decide for yourself.
