Notes:
The second entry in our new exploratory series began, long ago, as a question: What would a “wild” Mary taste like? Thus, this Farmstead® Lager was brewed with Czech pilsner malt and organic malted wheat in a single decoction and generously hopped with Perle, Hersbrucker, and Czech Saaz. Primary fermented as a lager with our lager yeast, this was then conditioned in oak barrels for 12 months with our resident microflora. This has been allowed more than two years of bottle conditioning prior to release.

poured a bright yellow with a bright white head. Plenty of aroma...lemon, pear, a touch of oak, a touch of funk.Taste was an upfront tart, lemony burst followed by a smoother aftertaste. Well suited carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall a very well crafted sipper of a beer.

Looks golden yellow. Smells like lemon, and citrus. Taste like a funky lager, but very nice going down overall.

This one pours a golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like funky lemonade, grassy hops, barnyard funk, citrus, white wine, and oak.
This really works well. You can tell that this was a pilsner at some point in its lifespan - that grassy and spicy hop character is still there, along with a light sweetness that feels like grainy but crisp pilsner malt. On top of all that, there's a lemonade-like funk character, with some orange peel, a touch of wine barrel, and some drying oak.
This is light bodied, clean, slightly creamy, with a wonderful drinkability.
I really like the idea behind this one, and the execution was just about spot on.

375 mL bottle. Cloudy yellow. Smells of lemon and some butyric yeast notes. Tastes of bright lemon tartness, a little bit of doughiness. Yeasty finish. Doesn't have the same butyric flavor as the nose. Light body. It's pleasant, but not my favorite.

Bottle from the source.
Shared with Brennan & Khalil.
Served alongside HF Mary.
Light yellow, hazy body with a lasting white head. Bits of soapy lace.
Oaky aroma, tangy flavor, high drink ability, low carbonation. Solid.
