15th Anniversary Collaboration: Shaun Hill and Dan Suarez - A pub-style Blonde Ale
Some people move through life like a song, leaving an everlasting imprint—etched in laughter, the effortlessness of purpose, and the formation of experience that is impossible to forget. Some people are a constant source of motion—ideas, laughter, and words that loop and linger long after they’ve been spoken. Dan Suarez embodies this sentiment.
Dan was my first employee, but more than that, he was an endless collaborative source of inspiration to me in our nearly inseparable and tireless early days together (February 2011 - September 2013). Through long days and late nights, he filled the brewery and my life with a tune all his own. Every day, a new fixation, a new phrase, a new reason to laugh. Words that I would affix (and still adorn) some of our coveted beers: Convivial and Soigné. My endearing nickname for Dan was “Pub-Style.” And so, we brew together again—not just a beer, but a reflection of those early days and of the energy that shaped us.
We offer this Blonde Ale—simple, classic, yet brimming with intention. A toast to laughter and to the beautiful obsessions that make life worth living. A reminder that the best friendships, like the best songs, never really leave you.

16oz can served in a willibecker. Pours a pale, yellow-orange with a loose, 1/8th inch, off-white head that quickly disperses into thin, sudsy cap. Nose is clean and expresses traces of citrus and a light, bready character. Taste consistent with nose with the addition of a light herbal/medicinal bitterness. Mouthfeel is light in body with an assertive carbonation. Overall, well-crafted and easy drinking, but not a go-to style for me.

On tap at Sabatinis in Exeter pa this lunchtime.
Slightly hazy pale yellow body. Small white head persists and leaves a sheet of lacing. Aroma is fresh and clean. On tasting, a good deal more hoppy than your average blonde, a little less sweet, which is fine by me. Finish is a lasting light bitterness.
Overall, a collaboration between 2 top notch brewers produces a very enjoyable low alcohol beer with tons of character.

Can sent by warnerry.
Amazing beer. Just wow. Such an easy drinker. Complex aroma and flavor and deep, rich mouthfeel and only 4.4% ABV?! Unbelievable. Nice hop bite, creamy mouthfeel, dry finish. Good head retention.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells slightly orange-y, with biscuity malt, and soft and grassy hop notes.
This feels like Walden, a really great Hill Farmstead blonde ale, with a slightly higher and more rustic hop character. There’s grassiness, floral notes, some almost chive-like notes, with an undercurrent of soft orange pillowy juiciness. I think this would be absolutely outstanding on cask – I hope someday they bring this back and present it that way.
This is very soft, pillowy, and super drinkable – it’s light, but not thin.
I could drink quite a bit of this, quite easily, and hope to do so!

Poured from a growler filled yesterday at the brewery.
A - Slightly hazed forsythia yellow, excellent thick white cap. Lacing is ring after ring after ring.
S - Lemon verbana out of the gate. light grist with a bit of wheat maybe. some biscuity notes and the remainder is floral.
Not tropical but citrusy
T - Pithy, with a balanced grain foundation. English Lemon Shortbread is the style I go back to.
M - Light as a (beer) feather, semi tart start, then a quick move through slightly sweet and a beautiful dry curtain call.
O - A lovely and delicious, blonde ale. There is a lot to unpack in this offering. The fact it is so drinkable, leaves little time for that task. An absolute gem.
