Taproom special. Served in a 10oz pour. Saison aged in rum barrels.
A: Hazy golden orange. No head to it, just a light ring of tan bubbles. Clearly short in carbonation.
S: Noticable rum smell is big up front, alongside the spicy yeast smells expected of a Saison.
T: Rum. Rum. Rum. Almost cocktail-like in it's strong flavor. Saison yeast plays a bankroll here along with light malty biscuit sweetness.
M: Low carbonation for sure. Likely a by-product from the barrel aging and maybe being carbonated in keg. Doesn't overly effect the beer, but does make it slightly tiring.
D: Like rum? Like Saison? This is a win win. Unique beer for sure.
