On tap at the Porterhouse Independent Beer Festival.
Pours cloudy rusty gold with stiff egg white head that leaves some webbing. Sour grain and sticky hop flower nose. Grainy mash malts with a bit of sponge cake, slightly acid middle, then a cutting nettle bitterness. Dried apricot end, dry thristy linger. Medium, crisp and fizzy.
Labelled as a Best Bitter.
Holy hops! What are First Gold? They sure bring the pucker. Maybe a bit too sour and lively, but surprising character nonetheless.
