Type: Draft
Glass: .4L (13.5oz) glass
From: Tiger! Tiger! in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $3.00 (selected beer between 5-8 p.m. on a Tuesday)
Purchased: July 1, 2014
Consumed: July 1, 2014
Misc.: N/A
Poured a honey, golden, semi-muddled color with three fingers of rocky, white head when I got it. Average spotty lacing along the sides of the glass. Above average retention on the top.
Smelled boozy, corn, wheat, grassy notes, light apple, grape, floral notes, raspberry iced tea, light bubblegum, honey and unknown spices.
Tasted much better than the smell. Got apple, green grape, dark kiwi, citrus hops, sweetened iced tea, bubblegum and sweet sugary floral hops.
Light body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, fruity, refreshing finish.
This was a really good saison. It grew on me as it went down.

I thought I didn't like saisons until I tried this one. Great head, fine bubbles that stuck to the glass the whole way down. I didn't get much on the nose as I was eating strong barbecue. Kind of a mild coconutty taste, almost pina colada like? I'm going to revisit this one for sure whenever I get a chance.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,
A: Pours a hazy golden colour with a light white head, nice look.
S: Bubblegum, yeasty esters, inviting.
T: Interesting bubblegum play comes out again with wildflower, rose petals, very flowery and yeasty.
M: Smooth mouthfeel, medium-bodied, clean.
D: Quite a good saison, not as good as La Luz, but few are, definitely worth a try.
