another positively wicked beer in this little series, i wish i could try them all! this is a little more sour and a little stronger overall than the damson version, which i think was my favorite of the lot, but it has a similar hazy pink color, maybe a little less vibrant, and a short head from the bottle. the currant is awesome because its obvious in the nose, sure it has hints of raspberry, rose hip, and maybe even tart cherry, but i can pick it out as currant too, which is uncommon with this tangy little fruit. more acidic sourness and less of the funky and delicate saison yeast here, and thus a little less complex than the others i have had. the currant is citric and tart in the taste, still a white wine note from the yeast that its real compatible with, and a soft and sort of minimal grain profile that rides along. this one is more fruit driven than the damson, and the pucker slows me down a little bit. more carbonation than its short head suggests, and it feels quite alive on the palate. maybe a little thin in feel, but the fermentation profile and the fruit together are sensational. these guys are making some of the best beers in london as far as i am concerned, and this series is a great showcase of that. id love to get my hands on some more of them!
