Since StonedTrippin is such a hard act to follow, the smart thing for me to say is: "I agree. I'm with him."
But no one will believe me when they find out I'm twice his age. So it seems I must write a review.
Bought from Chicago's Beer Temple, my copy also foamed out of the bottle fast and stayed pretty active. Smells were more mute, but the yeast kicks up considerable malty fruit in this modest 3.5% ABV saison. Tastes are complex and while StoneTrippen dissects them well, I'm not sure they all belong together: a spicy/peppery yeast doesn't complement this farmhouse funk; and one or the other should be reduced in the next release. Finishes dry, perhaps too dry for many foods. Medium-mouthed and soft, probably some wheat in the mix.
I'll have this again, I hope; and maybe I'll see more of what StoneTrippen, my wise younger, sees in 42dB. Saluti !
My first from Extraomnes, I went on their website which is only just in early stages of being something more than pretty. Of course, I couldn't find the English button. But when I get that button, I hope they also say why they are the only Belgian-inspired brewery south of the Alps.

a really flavorful and lively little saison here, super low alcohol but not at all lacking in character, sort of grisette-esque to me, with some grain complexity yet still fermentation driven, i have not had nearly enough beer from these guys, but jumped when i saw this pink bottle from them, been years i think since i had one of their beers. the bottle gushes pretty decently, very excited to get out, and pours a softly cloudy pale color without any real sediment to it and a huge puffy white head that really holds, gorgeous in the glass. the aroma is complex to me, and it keeps changing as it sits, sweet with more malt character than expected right away, some funk in the nose, young brett maybe, but also saison easters of pear, green grape, and coriander, some spiciness to this, herbal hop bitterness too, more than expected there as well, nice minerality, a graphite type thing going on, peppery as it warms, with vanilla, lemongrass, and white tea all in the mix, holy cow! the flavor is awesome, a little more rustic saison now, maybe some rye malt in here, definitely wheat, its fluffy and deeply grainy although pale and dry most of the way. the hops are quite bitter, maybe noble, with some definite grassy character but pretty early onset bitter snap, just off from peak freshness it seems. the yeast is funky without being bretty or tart, instead its old worldy, pastoral and ancient, subtle almost wit-like esters to it, and it starts to take over in a good way as this warms. a graham cracker thing at the core of this, white pepper, citrus zest, crusty bread, fresh grains. cannot believe this is so low in alcohol, its almost heart to drink on, incredibly effervescent with popping bottle conditioned carbonation and a unique finish with the hops. splendid offering overall, will appeal to the old world saison nerd without a doubt, unassuming and wonderful, you dont know unless you know!
