Appearance: Pours Belgianesque, with a three finger head capping the clear amber liquid; excellent retention and splotchy lacing

Smell: Sugar cookie dough malt aromatics dominate; funky, with peppery phenols

Taste: Cookie dough malt flavors add a sweet underpinning to a flavor profile that becomes phenolic and funky, through the middle; wet hay and herbal tones linger into the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation; some creaminess from the oats

Overall: An extra in a long ago trade (the beer dates from Sept 2014), this has held up fairly well, despite some oxidation; more malt forward than I would expect from a Saison but that might be because of its age

Picked this up at the Brewery months and months ago. Got lost in my fridge.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a crystal clear light copper hue with a two finger white head that faded slowly to leave a thin white blanket. Not much side lacing.

S - Aromas of nice light funk, good esters, fainter malts, faint hay and apples. Light crackers and phenols.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Decent funk and esters. Nice light lemongrass, fair amount of saison notes and phenols going on. The phenols are actually a bit distracting on the taste, takes away from some of the grassier hops.

M - Mouthfeel nicely carbonated for the style, fairly on par, alcohol hidden well.

O - Overall this beer was relatively straight forward for the style. That being said, still a solid beer from Rising Tide.

Great way to celebrate the end of December when it's 68 degrees out with an autumn beer. Born 9/21/15

Pours a nice 2 finger frizzy foamy head that fades at a med pace, very little lacing, hazy honey golden orange color.

Nose great saison farmhouse, bit funky, farmhousey, grainy doughy malt notes, wheat grassy, cracker notes, lemony funk, lemongrass, bit of a peppery phenolic spice note, light fruity esters in the background as well, mild grassy hop.

taste brings more of the same, big farmhouse funk, saison funk with a little lemony note, lemongrass into big grassy flavors, grassy malt with toasted wheat, bready cracker, a little sweet candy malt as well, with a touch of warming booze bringing fruity esters, a faint banana and apple tree fruit, mild peppery phenols again. A bit of an herbal grassy hop is there too, mild to fair bitterness. Finish dries a bit and gets a bit more bitter, a little more hot booze note, lingering grainy malts and wheat, with plenty more farmhouse saison funk and grassy herbal hops.

Mouth is med bod, nice effervescent carb, bit of warming booze.

Overall not bad at all... nice farmhouse saison funk flavors, nice yeast profile, nice malt, hops aren't my fav style but go well with this beer. Def an enjoyable saison, but perhaps a bit high on the alcohol if I had to nitpick anything.

A- about two fingers of dense, bone white head. Reduces to a mm with a nice collar. Opaque deep golden body. A lot of visible carbonation. Good lacing.

M- Apple, touch of white pepper. Maybe some honeydew melon.

T- Sweet cereal malts, followed by tart apples notes. Rounded out with sharp, fresh ground black pepper. Apples carry through. Also getting a like cheesey funk.

M- Medium body. Soft feel for the style. Finishes is dry and lingering.

L- darker side of gold or lighter side of amber. it sits in the neutral zone between those two and honestly looks kinda weird. Neutral zone infraction! pretty hazy, kinda murky. almost no head. an extremely thin and spotty white layer of foam sits across the top of the beer for the duration of the ride. sometimes i cant quite place why i dont like how a beer looks and this is one of those times.

S- not pickin up too much. saison notes i dont feel the need to try to describe. my nose detects some sweetness. a bit floral and perhaps a little pear. theres something dirty about it too

T- malt is apparent in the form of life cereal, sweet and grainy. again, unmistakable saison notes that dont warrant further investigation. light herbal and floral hops come in at the end, post swallow(not like a carrier pigeon). some pepper comes to play but not much, again a bit of pear. do what i did and call me crazy, but something about the overall flavors reminds my mouth, brain and face of cherry tomatoes.

F- its a bit prickly but over all is fine i suppose

O- pretty standard malty saison. its a good beer but not special in any way. sweet malt, generic saison notes, lil spice, and faint hops. something cherry tomato esque, but i might be nuts, i am but one man with one opinion! inoffensive and drinkable but pretty boring overall. again, if you dig this beer thats rad, i am one man with one strong opinion for basically everything.
