Pours clear, gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Smell is medicinal-sugary kids medicine. Taste is watermelon sherbet. Light bodied, sweet, with medium-high carbonation. Smell is really off putting which is unfortunate as the beer is tasty. If they could clean up the smell, I could see myself having several of these on a hot day. Otherwise, this is a pass.

I'm certain I would have enjoyed this beer more, if it was a hot summer's day, by the pool. Instead, I'm drinking it on the verge of Fall and cooler temperatures. You do taste the watermelon without the beer being overly sweet. Although, I still think Hell or High Watermelon may be my go to watermelon beer.

Modest head production and poor retention. Brew is a lemon-yellow color and transparent with some action.
Aroma is heavily slanted toward watermelon, to the point that any tartness or malt is washed out. It's not unpleasant, but it's one-dimensional in the extreme.
Flavor is a touch better, but a bit too sweet, and still too heavily favoring watermelon. If you're a fan of that flavor, you'll probably love this - and it's absolutely refreshing, with notes of cucumber and watermelon floating above an overshadowed pilsner malt base. Almost no tartness, which would redeem this brew.
Easy drinking, a touch oily.
In summary: too sweet, and too much watermelon. This is a beer that has a ton of potential, especially knowing the base beer, but ultimately sacrifices drinkability to gimmick.

12 ounce can, unsure on date as I forgot to look and it’s already in the recycle cart. Poured into tulip.
Pours a pale golden yellow, fizzy half finger of head that left just as quickly as it came.
Interesting nose of lemon, lighter and tangy watermelon jolly rancher, dough. The taste is soft, bready, cantaloupe, honeydew more than watermelon. Not sure how to rate the taste. Sticks more on the melon side but not watermelon. It’s not offensive in any way.
Light, low carbonated. Melon adds some lingering softness on the finish.
Hmm, I won’t say avoid. If this was the only beer in emergency situations, I’d make do. Unfortunately it’s on the weirder scale and one I wouldn’t want again.

Avoid. Hoped it would be another fun warm-weather watermelon-themed quencher like Hell of High Watermelon but, alas, it is not.
The watermelon tastes almost like a watermelon cough syrup... really off-putting. Mine were pretty fresh cans but maybe they weren’t kept well prior to purchase?
Have enjoyed other Wild Heaven beers including the regular Emergency Drinking Beer but this one is a disappointment. I’m trying to figure out what to mix the last one with in order to choke it down; maybe with lots of lemonade in a shandy?
If you want a fun summer beer w/ watermelon, track down Hell or High Watermelon. Steer clear of this one.

Very light clear clear fruit juice appearance with little cap or lace.
I actually get watermelon in the scent but it's the white rind rather than the ripe pulp. It's a clean scent that displays little in the way of grain or hops.
Taste is mild clean citrus with that same watermelon rind presence. Not bad, not terribly good either, more in the way of pleasing, clean, light refreshment. Could wash down a variety of food styles from mild to spicy.
Light texture with a noticeable lack of carbonation. It's in there, just not much.
Not much more to say except if you find it cheap it's worth a buy.

I only had a small sample of this, so it was difficult to assess it completely. There was a prominent aroma of green from a garden. I'm not sure I would have identified watermelon. Perhaps the juice that is left after eating all the good red parts and carving into the rind and then drinking the juices that remain. The flavor was crisp and bright with the greenness coming through. Might be better on a hot summer day.,

I actually like this version of EDB more than the standard because at least water melon gives it a bit of character. The aroma is fruit and the initial taste is refreshing. It lingers nicely going down. The low ABV (3.8) makes it a nice companion on a humid summer day in Georgia.
