12oz can served in a WABL sample glass. Canned on 06/29/2020
Pours a mostly clear pale yellowish with a small head and medium carbonation. Smell is fruit juice, tart, herbal.
Taste is similar -- tropical fruit, tart, herbal -- looking at the label and seeing basil listed, I could call it that. Also somewhat salty. Not overdone.
Mouthfeel is very dry, light. Overall, pretty good beer. Interesting and refreshing.

its pretty awesome to see cascade in a can, there are a couple different ones around town now, pricey still, but somewhat more accessible in this format i reckon. i liked this a whole lot, a real summery sour, barrel aged still too! this is done with grapefruit, basil, coriander, and salt, and all of that can be fully appreciated. the grapefruit is zesty and pithy and natural and a little bitter up front, highlighted nicely by the mineral profile of the salt and the clean sourness that resonates at a similar acidity level. the basil is on the back end, most pronounced right on the swallow, natural as can be, fully fresh and botanical, and uniquely compatible with both the other ingredients here and the sourness, really unexpected and good. the salt and coriander are nice unifying elements and they also seem to serve to keep the wheat present in the flavor mix as well. the grapefruit is really fresh and zippy in here too and i like the bitter element. this is dry and fast finishing, a little funky recall at the end but more of a clean acidity despite the barrel, modest oak on here, this never feels overly heavy or mature because of how fresh everything is, a neat beer for this format, makes great sense. carbonation is right there, the body is light, and the flavors marry together beautifully. i loved this, and will look forward to trying their other canned offerings soon!

12oz can poured into a teku; mostly-clear gold pour with an off-white head that fizzles quickly away; lots of lacto/sour character in the form of lemon; grapefruit is apparent in a fruity tartness, the saltiness shows up as well and pushes this brew into Gose territory...clean herbal notes of basil and corriander; tart finish; a clean-tasting and drinkable sour.
