Appears reddish brown with a small off-white head.

It smells of earthy fresh ripe tart cherries and mild vanilla and oaky bourbon smell as well. There is a mild acidic vinegar smell to the beer as well. The fresh cherry smell is amazing you can tell that this is a really young beer as it smells like fresh non-fermented cherries. There is a great balance between the vanilla bourbon smell and the fresh cherry smell.

It tastes much like it smells. There is an initially very strong sweet earthy fresh cherry taste. There is a slight tartness from the cherries and a semi-potent sour acidic taste to balance the cherry sweetness. There is a mild but noticeable bourbon flavor that adds an oaky and vanilla flavor to the beer. The beer is very nicely balanced. All the flavors blend well with each other. I really like the fresh cherry flavor of the beer.

The mouthfeel of this beer is smooth. The carbonation is moderate low.

The drinkability is very good. I forgot to write down the alcohol percentage that the beer has but it goes down really smooth. Though this beer has a strong flavor the flavor is not overwhelming. I could drink a few glasses of this beer.

Overall a great beer. It is not quite as sour as the normal kriek but there is more of a cherry flavor to this beer. I also think the bourbon adds a nice unique flavor to this beer.
