On draught at the Keg & Cork.
Pours a clear copper colour with a small short term head of foam.
The smell is of pine with some orange citrus.
Light bitterness from the ample IBUs brings pine and orange peel notes. Malt is hidden pretty well. .maybe some cracker.
Smooth mouthfeel. A solid IPA.

Type: 16-oz. draft
Glass: Plain pint glass
From: Hamilton’s Tavern in South Park (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $7.00
Purchased: Feb. 4, 2016
Consumed: Feb. 4, 2016
Misc.: Release day and only bar in California featuring Melvin
Bartender recommended this one when I was looking for another Melvin beer to have (they had six on tap) before the big 4x8. Expectations were not that high, thinking that the 2x4 would be the only good one from Melvin. Will be shorter review because of locations and atmosphere.
Tough to see at Hamilton’s, but poured a caramel, hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head when I got it. Excellent foamy layered lacing on the sides of the glass. Above average retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled floral, very malty, rye, iced tea, Citra hops, orange blossom, tropical and mango. (Smell - 4.25)
First thought in the taste was a smoother Blazing World. Got rye hops, sweetened iced tea, orange blossom, lots of malts, tropical hops, mango rind, buttery malts, caramel and toffee. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-above average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Another good beer from Melvin. 2-for-2. (Overall - 4.00)

Draft at b:30... clear light amber.. sudsy white head.. Pithy citrus hops across the board but there is more malt character in this one than their other brews... light dry toast and hints of fermented out caramel... Interesting and not really as "intense" and I guess that works this time... Very drinkable.

I greatly enjoyed this, a bit more complex than their main IPA, and a nice solid flavor. Would drink again
