It's time to open up your senses and experience the Mind Bloom. Mosaic and Motueka hops create bold flavors of ripe melon, mango and mojito in this modern IPA. Fruity and floral things that make you go "Mmmm…"

Pours a nice golden almost amber color; hazy but with still a decent amount of clarity. I love the aroma of this beer, big grapefruit notes, nice floral and piney characteristics from the hops. Taste is similar with additional flavors of orange, mango, and other tropical fruit; as well as a good contribution from the malt. Finish is a little dry and bitter but honestly it doesn't linger long enough to be overbearing. Really, really enjoyed this one. Cheers!

Picked this up on a recent trip to Windmill Farms after already grabbing four or five others. Always happy to see new Melvin beers at Windmill Farms. Had never heard of this one, but knew about this experimental series. Online description read, “It's time to open up your senses and experience the Mind Bloom. Mosaic and Motueka hops create bold flavors of ripe melon, mango and mojito in this modern IPA. Fruity and floral things that make you go "Mmmm…””

Poured a dark golden semi-hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled Mosaic, floral, mango, lime, lemon, viney berry, melon, peach, papaya and tropical zest. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted even better than the nose. Wow, this was juicy. In order got Mosaic, huge mango, guava, papaya, peach, floral, lime, lemon and melon. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Juicy, soft finish. (Feel - 4.00)

Really liked this. Might have underrated this a tad, but outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)

I have fastly become a fan of Melvin Brewing. The breakfast beer they did was phenomenal. Most of what I have drunk so far has been exeptional beers. The beer is about a month old. The beer is served in a pint glass and is at 44 degrees. The pour of the beer produced a monster three finger head with excellent retention. The slowly dissipating head left lacing on the glass. This is a prominent sign of quality. The frothy and airy head is ivory in color. The color of the beer is straw with some amber hues. The beer is slightly hazy. I love the appearance of this beer.

The initial aromas in the beer are melon biscuits and orange. Next, I smell limes, pineapple, floral esters, bread, a touch of earth, grapefruit, and resin.

The initial flavors in the beer are oranges, floral esters, lime, and pineapple. Next, I taste, bread earthy, lime, lemons, grapefruit, mangos, and crackers,

The mouthfeel of the beer is creamy and soft.

The body of the beer is medium, medium-low carbonation, and a medium finish.

The beer's hop profile gives the beer an unusual take on IPA. Hard to judge whether the beer is a solid IPA. For me this beer is delicious. The hop profile comes through beautifully with a gentle malt profile. The balance in the beer is with a deft hand. I am surprised this beer has a lower rating. Well done beer, I am enjoying it!

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of tropical fruit, melon and toasted caramel. Sweet and fruity with melon and a sharp bitterness.

Can from The Craft Beer Cellar Belmont
Lightly hazy deep golden color with a bubbly white head with moderate retention. Citrus tropical pine and resin against a bit of sweet bready maltiness.

Golden colored body; semi-cloudy; incredibly dense and rocky white head. Delicate fruitiness on the nose; pineapple and papaya, honeydew. Rather subdued taste; biscuit and cracker; honey; delicate hop bitterness; very faint lime. Medium-heavy body; spongy with a dry edge; noticeable residual sugar presence; very light tanginess and acidic bite.

I wouldn't consider this a New England IPA just because of some light cloudiness. Nor does the beer offer some of the oat and lactose (powdered sugar to my palate) feel or flavor. No, this seems to lean more towards a west coast kind of IPA more than a hazy. Perhaps it's intended to be a hybrid. I don't know. But it is a very fine looking beer and has a respectable taste to it.

On tap in Boise.

Hazed yellow-gold appearance with an immense soapy white head. Inviting.

Lots of fruity notes and tropical hops on the nose - lots of tropical fruits, peach and melon...citrus, clementine, lime even?

Taste is in line with the nose, light bitterness but lots of fruitiness, mango and peach and papaya...melon too, citrus as well. Pretty good!

Medium-ish bodied beer with lower carbonation.

Can’t quite tell why this one scores so low - it’s good IMHO. The flavors are a little lighter than I would like but it drinks very easily and is a tasty offering.
