650ml bottle. Served in a snifter glass. Pours as expected, dark black body, one finger mocha head, short lived, no lacing. Smell is huge fluffy marshmallow and whiskey, mild green pepper, milk chocolate, a bit of cocoa, oak. Flavour is hefty vanilla and whiskey; it's heavy on the bourbon in a good way. Milk chocolate, a bit of baker's chocolate, cocoa, with more of the pepper heat coming out on the palate compared to the nose. It's excellent, maybe a bit more spicy than I'd like. Mouthfeel is medium fuller bodied, not thin or watery, good carbonation, smooth with a nice whiskey and peppery finish. This was excellent, the whiskey on this beer really shined. I think I would have enjoyed this still more if the peppers were not quite as spicy as they are in this base beer.

bottle pour; With 2 years on it, everything you expect to be there is still there -- spice, barrel, booze. Pours thick and dark. Not sure I'm able to discern this being a Pappy barrel, you could have told me this was a whatever bourbon barrel and it would still be fantastic.

Light tan head. Black color.
This one is a bit smoother than then JD. Not as hot and spicy but still there. As it warms it gets better. Nice cinnamon and vanilla. Chocolate and cocoa. Oaky with a lot of bourbon. Very oaky.
Love this as the warms up. Super smooth.

Was it delicious? Yes. Would I give up half my cellar for another? No. Was fortunate enough to try this in a whale-share tonight. Now, going up against remy pappy, DBH and BA Abraxas was certainly some tough competition. But, it certainly held its own, however, of those four, it would be in last place imo. I'll only compare it to remy pappy since the barrel was the same, but the body was thinner. The mouthfeel was thinner, although still relatively nice, but there was a lot going on. The spice was nice (similar to regular cake) but I appreciated the simplicity of the remy pappy vs the complexity of the pappy cake. Was it delicious? Yes, of course. Would I spend $200 or more for one? No. If you have a chance to try it without giving up too much, go for it. But, don't give up too much. Borderline world-class/great overall imo.

Pours dark brown, not black with no head at all. Amazing bourbon nose - marshmallow, toffee, buttery vanilla, coconut, chocolate, cinnamon, booze. Taste is vanilla, caramel fudge brownie, cola. Cinnamon is well integrated, not forward. Pepper builds on the palate as you go. Oak dryness, dark cherry, Dark fruit, plum, raisin. Bourbon builds to a crescendo in the mouth finishing with a warm, comforting burn on the finish. Mouth feel is thin to medium. This is really easy drinking, but it needs a little more weight to be considered one of the best. Overall it's a great experience.
