The folks at Westbrook are making big strides, and this IPA testifies to that. It’s hoppy, ballsy and bold, and the Nelson Sauvin hops come through very prominently in the nose, with melon and grapefruitbut those notes appear especially on the palate. At just 7% ABV, it’s totally sessionable, but only for those, like me, who enjoy being hop smacked on occasion. Crowned with a frothy head that lasts longer than the Energizer Bunny, this beer is a hophead’s delight. Nicely carbonated with a biting, acidic mouthfeel, a nice, bitter finish rounds out an equally pleasing taste experience. Use retro -olfaction for some pleasant surprises. Nice work, Westbrook!

Poured from 16 oz can dated 1/18/2018
A: Hazy golden yellow with 1-2 finger dense white head. Lasting retention and moderate lacing.
S: White grapes, peaches, and apricot mixed with passion fruit and orange zest.
T: Peach, apricot, grapefruit, and tangerine. Nice fruity component mixed with a healthy hop bitterness.
M: Medium body with average carbonation. Finish is fairly bitter and very dry.
O: Excellent IPA that showcases the Nelson hops nicely. I just wish the price point on this series was better.

Appearance - Pours semi transparent orange with thick fluffy white head. Spotty lacing.
Aroma - Ripe citrus, grapefruit, pine, orange peel, mixed bitter sweet aroma.
Taste - Fresh nelson hops hits you right away, pine resin, grapefruit very dry earthy bitter finish. It hits slightly sweet at first but quickly moves to bitter.
Feel - Medium bodied pretty dry finish.
Overall - The Nelson Sauvin hops are powerful in this one, probably not for everyone but great bitter hoppy IPA.

Drank straight from the can. As soon as you crack it, the Nelson hops just burst. My favorite hop. Flavor is moderate Nelson hops, but not overpowering. Fairly dank. Good mouthfeel. Great beer

Pours a murky orange with a massive, persistent frothy head. Smells kind of like the the Simcoe/Amarillo with the weird stale sort of character despite the freshness. Soapy hop flavor with a nutty grain finish. Raw greenness, tea, yeast, vague spiciness. Nelson is such a great distinctive hop and this is just...indistinct. Medium bodied, a little low on carbonation, but sufficiently crisp. This is the second disappointing R/R in a row, so I'm done for a while - especially at this price point.
