I’ve still yrt to have a beer actually from Horus, but this is like the third beer I’ve had that they collaborated on. They tend to excel at big adjunct-forward Stouts from what I hear, so I’m expecting the hazelnut and coffee to be turned all the way up in this one. Let’s get right into it

Pours completely pitch black with 2 fingers of frothy dark tan head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing

The nose is sweet but very roasty as well. I’m picking up on aromas of spent coffee beans, roasted hazelnut, burnt caramel, red grape, molasses, dark toast, cacao nib, and light leafy hops

It’s pretty similar in taste and that’s fine by me. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting cocoa powder, dark roast coffee, black cherry, molasses, roasted hazelnut, vanilla bean, burnt caramel, red grape, and light black pepper. The swallow brings notes of cacao nib, burnt caramel, molasses, leafy hops, spent coffee beans, roasted hazelnut, red grape, vanilla bean, black tea, and light cinnamon

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes a tad sticky but dries out quickly and drinks well below its abv

Oh yeah, this one is great. Not the mpst hazelnut I’ve had in a beer but it’s very powerful anyway

Came here to review this and saw it was no longer being brewed, which makes me a little sad. But happy that I got to try it before it was gone.
Checks all the boxes for an imperial stout, black as moonless midnight, brown head and lacing, aroma of sweet malts and hazelnuts and chocolate and coffee. If this was canned last April, I've had it in the cellar for at least 7 months. The extra aging didn't hurt it al all, at least not for my palate. All sweetness and malts, I suspect they had *some* hops in there to balance things out but either those faded during the cellaring or they were simply not heavy handed with them to begin with. Even any bitterness from the coffee was tempered. For a late Sunday end-of-weekend, it was ideal. Simply scrumptious and would very gladly drink it on a regular basis.

Pours pitch black color that looks like spent motor oil with a 2-3 finger thick brown foamy head that faded slowly and left decent spotty lacing. Smells of dark chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, cocoa powder, espresso, toffee and some nutty notes. Very roasty like an oatmeal stout with chocolate and coffee grinds.

Tastes like it smells with dark chocolate, charred wood, roasted malts, caramel, smoked grains, cocoa powder, espresso, hazelnuts, toffee, then burnt coffee grinds and some nutty notes. Mild boozy aspects weave in and out between the roasted malts and chocolate flavors, along with some mild herbal notes. The hazelnut is more present in the taste. The feel is on the thin side for an imperial stout, especially for 17% ABV, but overall it was a fine slow sipper. I should have drank this sooner/fresher as it lost most of the nutty and coffee components.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a custom taster pint; canned 04/16/19 code: STORE COLD DRINK FRESH.
A: Pours a dark, rich brown color with a half finger, light brown head, rim retention, and limited lacing.
S: Aromas of chocolate, coffee, molasses, toffee, and nuts (definitely pick up the hazelnut).
T: Sweet, actually very sweet. Palate follows the nose. Solid bitterness despite strong sweetness.
M: Full bodied with low to moderate carbonation.
O: Really delicious. Really reminiscent of a mocha-nut sundae with everything but the cherry on top.

Served in a snifter glass from the can.

Appearance: Thick dark brown to black body coming off extra dark black purely opaque. Dark tan heading rising almost one fingers length off the body.

Smell: heavy molasses and warm brown sugar scent. Mocha aroma which stays with you and super appetizing.

Taste: Sweet chocolate cake like taste, devil's cake with heavy fudge and brown sugar melted within. So tasty.

Mouth: Sticky sticky with heavy chocolate finish. Medium carbonation with a full body and super addicting finish.

Overall: really good brew and comes off like a dessert for me but I want more and thought I was done for the night. Not tonight, Salud!

More sweet than dry coffee and hazelnut stout, a collab between Evil Twin and Horus with a 4/12/19 canning... Pours inky black with a slim dark brown head... Aromas of coffee, chocolate and hazelnut are solid, and asserted on the sip... Molasses-like sweetness permeates the chocolaty syrup of this full-bodied beer, rounding off the decadent profile... Rich and sweet, a bit too much so for me, though i found it less heavy than their Miami's Finest release...
