Look....Caramel head and cocoa pillow look with a jet black body.
Smell... a super wif of cinnamon and spices, brown sugar , semi-sweet chocolate, and cocoa . A very rich pronounced roast coffee bitter
Taste...a bath of sweet roast chocolate and brown sugar blending nicely into a drying bitter to sooth the sweet side. A hint of alcohol in the finish but....it is there haha. A complex taste throughout the beer with the char as an equalizer to the candy sugar
Feel... Velvet sugar char that embodies a wad of chocolate. Still slick enough to drink down in sips. A coating is layered
on the tongue. Satisfying and amply carbonated
Overall...This beer is very well made and a heavy hitter of tastes. I have had other beers from Evil twin but have never liked their IPAs but always knew they had some stout game. Big game beer and done very well

Pours a deep dark brown color with two fingers of tan head. The nose had touches of chocolate and dark fruits. The flavor was semi-sweet, not roasty. There are some modest chocolate notes present along with marshmallow, The body is hearty but still the alcohol pokes through and becomes a bit too much on the finish.

From the 16 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid imperial pours a dark obsidian
with a fantastic head of brwon foam that settles to a thick fat layer with great staying
power, and a displays some excellent lacing. Nose of coconut cream, dark coffee, dark
chocolate, char, and subtle dark berry hints. Flavors hit the mark with coconut, brulee,
nutty malts, earthy malts, rich coffee, rich bakers cocoa, and vanilla touched with char
and dark molasses. Mouth feel is full ,slick, coating, light carbonation, smooth, and
finishing with a bitter malt note.
Overall---SOLID!
Cheers

Vintage 2022. Can to tumbler.
L: Pours pitch black with a foamy golden brownish head that leaves a bit of lacing. No floaters.
S: Roasty with notes of cocoa, coconut and vanilla.
T: Dark chocolate, coconut, vanilla and coffee. Banana is also there. First sweet, then bitter, then even a bit tart.
F: Very creamy with a low carbonation. Slightly oily and sticky.
O: Very good stout with a dark, chocolaty body paired with Evil Twin‘s typical marshmallowy notes. Feels great and tastes super special, even without any barrel aging.

I have had blind faith in all Evil Twin stouts and when I see them, I buy them. How lucky to find this one.
It pours black and flat looking but on further examination and tasting, it has just the right amount of fizz. The aroma may be subtle, but it is also clean and appealing with loads of chocolate and a hint of booze. It has a deep, complex bundle of malty tastes and not as much bittering as I remember in the non-Royal Suite version or perhaps more malts balancing. While sweet, it isn't too sweet, and it is much too easy to drink. There is little warning in the taste or smell warning of that 12% alcohol.
Highly recommended. Do yourself a favor, if you see an Evil Twin stout, buy it.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Craft Beer Cellar, Belmont, MA
Canned on 10/15/21
Served in a tulip
The beer poured an insanely syrupy and viscous, near pitch black hue. A small, frothy, saddle brown head topped the liquid and quickly dropped to a pencil thin collar. Minimal spotty, streaky lacing stuck along the front on the glass.
The aroma was insanely good. Coconut came through big time. Loads of fragrant vanilla as well. Dark chocolate notes were also apparent. Perhaps some marshmallow too. This definitely reminded me of a Mounds candy bar. Subtly boozy. All in all, quite sweet but not excessively so for the style.
The flavor profile was also fantastic. Super malty and robust up front. Mostly caramel malts with a bit of roasted malts character too. Coconut notes again came through big time. Loads of vanilla as well. Marshmallow was also noticeable. Moderate amount of dark chocolate. The beer finished with a hint of lingering roast and some booziness. At 12% ABV, the alcohol was very well buried.
The mouthfeel was really rich and viscous. Syrupy and full bodied for the style. The liquid contained a finely beaded, moderate effervescence that turned frothy and slick on the palate.
Evil Twin are masters of the pastry stout, and this “royal suite” edition of Christmas Eve at a New York City Hotel Room was another absolute banger. Who needs candy bars when you have beers like this?

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a thin dark brown head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, milk chocolate and coconut; smells like a candy bar. Flavor follows, with milk and dark chocolate, vanilla and coconut; chocolate and coconut finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I'd have to say, spot-on for what was promised, a chocolate, vanilla and coconut stout. Well balanced with perhaps a little leaning to the vanilla flavors. The flavor profile is pastry stout and it is sweet enough to not want to drink large quantities, although not cloying. The high ABV is amazingly well covered; tasted more like a melted chocolate bar than a big stout. Excellent dessert stout. I never miss trying an Evil Twin stout and here another example of why that is.

Strong head production and decent retention. Dark brown head on an ebony body.
Potent and sharp aroma from a distance. Up close, it's incredibly rich, with strong notes of vanilla, chocolate, and molasses. Just a touch of coconut; additional notes include caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, and cherry. I've never had a pastry stout from Evil Twin, but that's what this nose implies.
Thick and full bodied on the palate, but not quite as chewy as you would expect for a no-kidding pastry stout. Very little harshness; low bitterness, primarily expressed by some dark roastiness on the finish.
Flavor profile is outstanding, blending the additives with the base beer in a very fitting and natural-seeming marriage. Initial flavor impression is that of an imperial stout: toast, molasses, caramel, roast, nuts, and red grape, but just a bit smoother and richer.
By mid sip, the chocolate has announced itself, lasting through the finish; dark, semi-sweet, at times even dry and powdery, the full range of chocolate expression. Additional wine-like notes of cherry and red grape in the middle.
A touch of coconut on the finish, amplified by vanilla, along with the aforementioned roasty bitterness. Lingering, lip-smacking finish.
Arguably a dessert or pastry stout, this isn't too sweet, and has plenty of depth and character - it's more rich than sweet. An absolute joy for fans of chocolate and imperial stouts.
