From the pint can, it pours a very dark brown/almost black color with a bubbly brown head that reduces to a thin layer sooner than desired. The nose gets toasted malt and black malts. The mouth follows with a roasted malts with burnt bits flavor. Aftertaste of black malt and charred wood.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin khaki head that dissipates to very sparse patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, barley, bakers chocolate and charred coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, bakers chocolate, drip coffee. Coffee bean bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Has the basic profile of the style, but a bit dialed back and almost watered down. Actually tastes like what it is: a domestic take on this classic style. The flavors here are pretty nice, good charry malt and coffee notes. Could use some more flavor depth. The fizzy, no head pour was not expected. A satisfactory light dry stout, but not up to Evil Twin's stout expertise. Unhelpful date code on the bottom seems to indicate this was brewed in the 13th month of 1946. Doesn't seem quite right.

First time I’ve tried a Dry Irish Stout, so I lack any basis for comparison and will simply tell you what I felt & observed. (I feel compelled to note I chose to drink this on St. Patrick’s Day.) It’s super dark brown and had a decent tan head but it totally disappeared after less than a minute. Almost no aroma aside from something slightly metallic. There’s a pleasant roasty maltiness, but my enjoyment is tempered by an almost total lack of any carbonation or fizziness. It’s reminiscent of drinking flat cola. 4.7% ABV means there’s not a whole lot of bang for the buck. In sum, I’m not sure whether my blasé reaction is to the genre or to this particular beer, but I’m just… meh.

Solid black appearance with no visible sign of carbonation
Below average carbonation with a body that seems thinner than other eviltwin stouts yet still seems to be a bit thick and heavy.
Aroma is tobacco and dark cocoa up front followed by roasted malt and toasted grain.
Overall it was different than some irish stouts I've had but still very enjoyable and worth a try

(16 oz can, N 5 D code; purchased off shelf... poured at 54 F into a tulip pint glass)
L: fizzed when I popped the tab, fizzed when I poured it in the glass... dark brown liquid, no head, no collar
S: domestic roasted barley all day, not much else
T: pretty much the same on the palate... roasted barley smoke lingering... little to no depth
F: dead... a bit acidic in the aft... flat
O: horrid, embarrassing... a puerile homebrewing fail... glad it was this disappointing, because I really wanted to drink something else... I rarely do such terse, dismissive reviews... this thing sucked surprisingly hard (2477)

Dark Brown, almost black with little head, barely a single ring of bubbles around the glass. Wonderful roasted aroma with chocolate. The taste is nicely roasted malt with a slightly bitter finish. Very thin on the palate which separates it from most of the barrel aged, imperial and pastry stouts. Great example of the style.

The pour is motor oil black with a tan & frothy head of foam. The body is medium & on the taste I'm getting roasted malt, baker's chocoate, along with some hints of coffee & tobacco char. Cheers! B

Pours dark brown, fizzy" tan head that quickly settles out to a thin ring; very little lacing. Nose is roast, light cola, slightly metallic. Taste has mild roast bitterness, baker's chocolate, and a dry finish. Feel is rather light, however, with pretty robust carbonation. Overall, nice and bitter, but found the feel too light and the carbonation too sharp for my taste.

Held onto this one for St. Paddy's Day - certainly enjoyed it. As advertised it is most certainly dry and has a rich roasted flavor. Mputhfeel is a tad watery but doesn't detract from the overall experience...

Pours so dark brown that it looks black with a 2 finger thick foamy tan head that was packed with bubbles, dissipating rather quickly and leaving next to no lacing. Smells of roasted malts, peat moss, burnt coffee grinds, earthy notes, faint pine cone and dark chocolate. It’s similar to Guinness but all the components seemed to jump out more. Taste was very much like the aroma with roasted malts, peat moss, burnt coffee grinds, earthy notes, faint pine cone, dark chocolate plus cold brewed coffee, oats, metallic accents, cocoa powder and charred wood. The body is light with a thin, watery feel and a nice hop bitterness. This was great to throw back on St. Paddy’s Day while playing darts.

The pour was very dark coffee brown and looked stout black in the glass. The brown head looked like it belonged on a 15% BA Imperial stout that was barrelled so long the carbonation dissipated. It was there, barely, and then it wasn't. Not even a ring, just gone.
The taste features the coffee and cacao malt flavors with an herbal aspect. The normal roast y or hoppy bitterness is present, but very mild.
The feel is surprisingly thin; not sure if I expected more viscosity because the pour brought to mind a BBA Imperial Stout but I did expect a little more body.
OA, happy to have tried it, but not sure I'd buy it again.

On tap at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells mainly chocolatey, with some nice roast as well.
This feels like a solid low ABV sweet stout, but doesn’t really scream Irish dry stout to me. It’s got less roast and sort of herbal bitterness, and more chocolate and maybe lactose? I might enjoy this more if it was poured on nitro, but it was on just regular old C02. That’s all to say that I’m still enjoying this, it just doesn’t feel exactly to style.
This is light bodied, pretty creamy, and very drinkable.
I enjoyed this, but it’s definitely not the truest take on the style.
