500 ml bottle, at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. ABV is 7.1%. Black colour, large tan head. Lovely aroma of hops, fruity and resinous notes. The flavour is distinctly hoppy with piney and resinous notes, also roasty notes (coffee). Roasty bitter aftertaste.

Wow, despite a Best Before 2014 on the label, this beer is still very good. Surprisingly, the hop character is still full fledged. Appearance was amazing with a huge thick creamy tan slow to settle head. I'm further impressed that they've been able to tweak it so that the hops blend so well with the roast and dark malt qualities. Very easy drinking brew.

Strong aroma is quite hoppy and woody, and has a hint of sour orange. Pours a stout-like sable with a thick and persistent tan head. Satisfying flavor has roast malt, hoppy and woody notes with hints of cloves and sour citrus. Smooth, lively texture has good body and fizz, and leaves a hoppy, smoky finish. No risk of a bad beer here!

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into a teku glass.
A-pours an opaque black with about 4 fingers of tan, fluffy head. Great head retention and beautiful lacing throughout the glass.
S- smells of roasted malt, hints of grapefruit rind, and a slight touch of cocoa. Very balanced on the nose as each scent does not overpower the other.
T- holy bitter batman! Very roasty and a bit sweet up front with a dry, pungent bitterness on the finish that lingers. This one will definitely kill your palate, so make sure you drink this one last if you are doing a tasting.
M- dry, harsh bitterness, and reasonable carbonation make up this mouthfeel. No detectable ether flavor from the 7.1abv.
O- pretty decent black ale. Not very sessionable but definitely worth a try if the price is right. The flavors are pretty well balanced without any of them overpowering the other. Pick this one up if you get the chance
