Three Heads Brewing "Strawbeery Fields"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle without production codes or freshness dating
$2 @ Wegmans, Collegeville, PA
Look: Clear amber & gold body beneath a two-finger thick head of fluffy-then-creamy white. Very good head retention and average lacing.
Smell: Light aroma of vanilla, strawberry, and a touch of something that's kind of chemical - it reminded me of Iodophor... perhaps it's just mineralish.
Taste: Vanilla-ish over sweet grainy malt with some distinct strawberry flavor coming in across the middle. A limited bitterness (12 IBUs) leaves it sweetish in the finish with some vanilla lingering. That same either mineralish or chemical flavor found in the nose remains and detracts from it. As it warms however, the malt widens a bit and it's not as noticeable.
Feel: Medium-bodied and gently crisp.
Overall: A decent enough strawberry beer overall, but not one that stands out from the crowd.
