they call this a light lager, and while it sure is mellow and drinkable, its one of the more compelling beers in this style i have had in awhile, really flavorful and drinkable, awesome for summer, insanely fresh, and for me and those i visited the brewery with, much preferable to their fairly solid nota pils. this one is lighter on that distinctly european malt character, but is not without grain flavor, a little floral honey sweetness in the center and a soft earthiness from it, harvesty and late summery in vibe, dry enough in taste, and really just delicious. the hops here are nice, less bitter than in a more classic pils type of any persuasion, but with a lot of flavor, fresh herbs and delicate citrus, even a little vegetal spiciness to them, but real balanced and well integrated too. i dont mind the little bit of sweetness from the grain in the taste, it almost seems to extend the hops. good carbonation and obvious freshness make this really drinkable and appealing to me, especially in the morning and on a little hangover. light lager as it should be, and for all the cool stuff they have on tap in here at the brewery, this was one of my favorites that we had! a great example of a craft lager!

Clear light golden color with white cap and lacing.

Malty rich aroma with what I first thought were Noble hops sing in the background but then noticed a piney citrusy thing going on as well.

Taste is definitely in the malt camp but hops form the frame of this malt picture. This is full on malt for a pale lager but it's not at all sweet, rather dry and restrained, which gives way for the hops to be noticed without their having to fight for attention. There is a sort of lemony citrus element to the hops which I find refreshing.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

For an all malt lager that's seasoned with but not dominated by hops this one's pretty good.
