On tap at Fiddler's Hearth in South Bend, IN on 8/21/12, served in a nonic pint.

Pour: Lightly hazy yellow with a finger head. Nice lacing.

Smell: Burst of banana, lemon, and to my pleasure, kiwi! Bready malt / honey background. This is super inviting.

Taste: Follows the nose really well, with banana and lemon hitting home first. Kiwi holds in there really well. Some apple notes pop out, especially halfway through the glass. A yeasty/honey breadyness.

Mouthfeel: Not only does this beer taste great, but it goes down so easily. I would love to drink this regularly.

Overall: Pretty cool beer. I would get again for sure.

On tap at Boombozz. Pours a hazy golden color with the slightest of heads. Smells of banana, wheat and smells tart. Can't really catch the chit on the nose. Taste is fantastic. Banana, yeast upfront followed by a really nIce tartness. Mouthfeel is nice. Medium, perfect carbonation. Overall, I'd have this again in a heartbeat. Not a hefe fan, but the tartness makes this very enjoyable. Well done flat 12.

Pours hazy light straw color with a small white head with decent retention.

Smells of wheat along with some lemon and a bit of what I'm guessing is the kiwi.

This beer has amazing flavor. Typical banana and clove notes along with the wheat malt are present, but there is also a distinct tartness and acidity from the kiwi also giving it a bit of a lemon flavor and pushing this one close to a wild ale flavor profile without the bugs. Finishes dry with more tart kiwi. Amazing.

Typical medium body of a hefeweizen with medium carbonation levels. Good beer for a hot summer day.

I was floored by this beer. Kiwi seems to be the perfect addition and this one went fast. It was almost as refreshing as a cold glass of lemonade on a hot day only without the putrid taste of every "lemonade beer" I've had. I really hope they make this again in the future.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a creamy head on it. Nose is kiwi, banana, sour lemons and some other sour notes. Taste starts off with sweet lemons that moves to some sour kiwi notes and a little bit of banana and clove. Ends with some sour kiwi and wheat flavors. Mouth is full and leaves a little dry. Overall, this is awesome stuff that I highly recommend!

Yes, yes this is something I will try.

Pours like a yellow cloud, like something out of an early spec drawing from Blade Runner. Smells like Shock Tarts. Not SweetTarts, mind--those were for sissies. Shock Tarts had electricity in them. They were so fucking sour it was like you just got zapped.

Tastes like very tart fruit puree. I wouldn't have known it was kiwi if I hadn't been told. This was a bit much at first, but a few sips in I really started digging it and began picking up some peppery hefe complexities that cut into the tartness. The most stellar feature, however, was the body. This is a thick and creamy weizen, about on a par with Weihenstephaner, and that smooth of a beer is surprisingly amenable to fruit infusion.

I sampled this on tap at Flat 12. I liked it so much, I took home a growler. However, I wish took home two growlers. I regret that Flat 12 is 2.5 hours away from me.

The beer was a straw yellow color with a soft white head. The carbonation is noticeable. Immediately, the kiwi is noticed in the aroma. The sweet and sour notes of the fruit combine surprisingly well with the wheat notes of a hefe. The wheat is detectable in the intial taste, but is overrun by the sour fruits. Kiwi fruit, lime, and tart berries are very present. It is an plesant attack on the sour zones of the tongue. The sour lingers nicely in the aftertaste. This is allowed to happen because of the thicker texture of the hefeweizen.

I would have never guessed kiwi fruit would be such a pleasant addition to beer. This is a refreshing, easy-drinker for a summer day.
