Type: Draft
Glass: Stem glass
From: Figueroa Brewing Company (Tap Room) in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Price: N/A
Purchased: May 24, 2014
Consumed: May 24, 2014
Misc.: Was at the tap room in Santa Barbara, not the actual brewery in Buellton
Poured a dark caramel, red, amber color with two fingers of off-white head. Some bubbles coming up from the bottom. Very good foamy layered lacing along the sides of the glass. Average retention.
Smelled malt heavy, caramel, toffee and light chocolate. Not that strong of a whiff, but had me wanting more.
Tasted similar to the smell, but more booziness. Caramel, toffee, light oak, chewy candy and Rolos.
Medium body. Thin-to-oily texture. Average carbonation. Long finish.
This was just OK, but just a tad bit off overall.

On tap at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company in Buellton, CA.
Pours a clear orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, toast, brow sugar, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable but nothing really stands out in my opinion.
