For our 11th anniversary is a luscious Baltic-style porter lagered in both Four Roses bourbon and Pinhook rye whiskey barrels. Rich and complex, our 11th anniversary has notes of chocolate, coffee, toasted almond, spiced honey and dates. We added toasted coconut and bourbon barrel-aged vanilla for even more delicious complexity. We hope you enjoy this enticing barrel-aged lager with those that matter to you most! Cheers from the Figueroa Mountain family.

Grabbed Fig Mountain’s 10th and 11th anniversary bottles after finishing up a flight with a review of the 12th anniversary. I’ve generally liked the Fig Mountain anniversary beers, giving the fourth a 3.95 on May, 2015; the sixth a 4.29 on Dec. 23, 2016; the ninth a 4.13 on Dec. 24, 2019; the 12th a 4.21 on Jan. 3, 2023 and the 10th a 4.17 on Jan. 6, 2023. Back of the bottle description was “For our 11th anniversary is a luscious Baltic-style porter lagered in both Four Roses bourbon and Pinhook rye whiskey barrels. Poured a pitch-black color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy-to-fizzy khaki white head. Could see a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Good lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled bourbon, vanilla, almond, caramel, toffee, toasted coconut, honey, date, fig and some dark fruit. Better out of the bottle. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted bourbon, vanilla, almond, chocolate, caramel, toffee, toasted coconut, honey, date, fig, dark fruit and plum. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Not the best anniversary beer I’ve had, especially from Fig Mountain, but this was still outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

Poured into a snifter - light brown pour with a small amount of head risen.
Getting aromas of malts, dark fruits, chocolate, honey, coconut.
Veeery good taste, getting that honey/dates upfront with some chocolate. Getting some almonds in here too as well as small amounts of coconut.
Feel is medium bodied, light on the carbonation. The ABV hides very well.
I got this because of curiosity but I'm glad I did. I like thick chewy stouts but this is a nice one to try. Would recommend this.
