Feel on this one is great to me but maybe overcarbonated? Flavor wise it's solid but on the lesser end amongst other good Oktoberfests. Still recommended especially if you're looking to try one in this area that isn't more popular

Canned on 7/23/20. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours an amber/burnt golden with nice clarity; small creamy light khaki head that fades leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are what you would expect from the style, more or less. Some caramel, crackers, toast, bread, grains and malts. The flavors basically follow the nose. More caramel leading the way along with some hints of toffee. Lots of toast. More grains. Subtle bitterness. Slightly stickiness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a solid Oktoberfest. It has basically everything that you'd look for in the style, more or less. It's enjoyable. It also won a bronze medal in the 2018 Great American Beer Festival, which is pretty impressive, for what it's worth. Not bad at all.

This beer poured a dark Amber color with a thin white head that disapated quickly.
The aroma was ready with a slight hint of toasted malt.
The initial taste is sweet and malty, but that gives way very quickly to a heavy smoky flavor in the middle. The beer finishes with a slightly hoppy , biscuity flavor.
The mouthfeel was smooth and a bit on the heavy side with very low carbonation.
This was an interesting version of an Oktoberfest. It had enough of the qualities of an Oktoberfest that it didn't betray the style, but it tasted a lot like a Dopplebock or a Swartzbeer. If you are looking for a complex, but smooth tasting version of an Oktoberfest, this would be a nice choice.

I found this at Belmont Party Supply near Dayton, Ohio. The picture on the bottle features a scarecrow sitting on pumpkins in front of a cornfield and a dark moon. The beer pours an amber color with a medium head with decent retention. In the nose is malt and caramel. The taste is pretty typical for an amber lager, with the malt character dominating but the hops certainly present as well. The mouthfeel, as the bottle advertises, is smooth and creamy and has just enough thickness to capture the malt character. Overall, this was an enjoyable beer and one that I would have again.
