Appearance is brown with a nice head and thick lacing.

Nose is musty, red gummy candy, honey.

Taste is slightly sour, very well-balanced with basalmic vinegar, toasted sugar, fresh white bread, oak finish.

Mouthfeel is smooth with medium-light carbonation, slight oil-slickness, clean finish.

Overall, nice, very well-balanced.

On tap at Studio 35 on 9/22/12

A) Rusty brown color of medium depth. 1/2 inch head thins quickly. Thin layer of retention. Pretty good rings of lace.

S) Tropical citrus hop notes are ripe in the aroma: peach, pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit. Toasty bread with caramel overtones.

T) Gripping pine tar leads off and opens to tropical goodness with juicy flavors similar to the aroma. This is very dry. Unobtrusive malts; lots of toasted bread and hints or caramel (it does seem a tad maltier as it warms).

M) Medium body with moderately high and smooth carbonation. Resinous and prickly.

D) I really like this one. Quite hoppy with enough balance. Underrated.
