HAZY TRIPLE IPA: This I believe is the most hoppy beer we have ever produced... Brewed with Strata hops, then the fun begins. We dryhopped this beer SIX times!!! First with more Strata, then, Citra, them a with a hit of Sabro and Motueka, Again with Mosaic and New Zealand Cascade, then with More Strata, and finally even more Strata.

Pours a cloudy/hazy orange/golden color with a medium thick head. Head fades to a nice glass gripping lacing. Nose is somewhat melon and grapes? Taste is somewhat disappointing. Pretty heavy on the alcohol taste outshines the citrus unfortunately. Mild bitterness on palate.

Man, I really wanted to love this beer.
Horns-up recommendation from a fellow BA, plus the name, the can hype, and overall heavy metal vibe.
Things got off to a bang, as I popped the can out in the Doom Saloon... the hop aroma damn near knocked me off my barstool!
Poured (into a large glass IPA vessel) a deep golden yellow hue with a 2 " head that fizzled down to a solid 1" that lingered.
Just out of fridge, so first sip held promises of the beautiful aroma of dank tropical fruits, but I let it sit a little to warm up, as the heat, and crushing sounds of Temple of Void filled the room.
Back to sipping, and, like the production on some death metal albums, things got muddled.
The words on the can boasted multiple hop varieties, with multiple additions, and then six....SIX different rounds of dry hopping!
Well, the 'haze and juice' treatment seemed to cancel out all of that love and effort. Like 2 guitars, bass, drums, and vocals all fighting for a place in the mix, with the wrong production, all of that gets jumbled together. Nothing stands out, nothing shines, all of the nuances are destroyed.
[Begin rant: The old skool IPAs allowed the hops-and the malt and oats--to play nicely together, each had a moment to shine in the spotlight. The bitterness was unleashed, not restrained and muted behind a soft pillow; the rough and abrasive edges were not rounded out. End Rant]
So, anyway, back to the beer...
The featured hop here is Strata, known for its weedy, resinous dankness.
That may have been an underlying tone throughout, but def not highlighted out front. There was a mix of tropical fruits, citrus, maybe berries, too?
Mouthfeel was full, with low to moderate carbonation. Somewhat sticky and a little sweet. Alcohol present, but def not the 9.5% (10.5?) wallop expected. Finishes with a little bit of an unpleasant harsh acidity.
Overall, an interesting tasting and listening pairing. As I contemplated the heavy chaos of the music, with each sip, I too contemplated the flavors in the beer. In both, there was a lot happening. The music unfolded, changing tempos and riffs, spanning highs and lows. The beer had layers to behold, but, unlike the music, they were not crushing; instead, they seemed crushed beneath the weight of their own existence. I was left wondering what could have been....

Look: gold and hazy, nice fluffy white head, left a few lacing rings at the top of the glass
Smell: peach, strawberry, melon, ripe tropical/dank
Taste: peach, strawberry, melon, resin, papaya, spice
Feel: med body, a bit lower on the carbo, good bitterness
Overall: 10.5% abv. Got tricked into this one from Tavour. Listed at 9.5% and didn't realize it was 10.5% until I read the can after I poured it. Geezuz! With that being said, this brew drank well. I could smell the peach, strawberry and melon pretty good up front and the longer I worked the nose the more dank/ripe tropical it got. Taste followed with added resin, papaya and spice kicking in. Really nice! Good bitterness added to my drinking pleasure. Pair her up with Swords and Tequila by Riot and enjoy. Cheers!

Look - Pours a fairly hazy straw color, with a very nice head that lasts several minutes.
Smell - citrus (lemon and some orange), and light pine.
Taste - Citrus, and bitter hops.
Feel - Somewhat bitter; no sweetness (as others have described). Has a good carbonation and texture for an IPA.
Overall - A decent IPA, but just a bit on the bitter side for my taste.

Soft and and lightly cloudy yellow body; incredibly thick and creamy white head, dense and lasting with sticky rings and patches inside the glass. Beautiful fresh fruit aroma; orange and pineapple, papaya and mango; floral. Piercing sweetness with citrus tanginess in the flavor; powdered sugar; intense underlying bitterness. Heavy body; biting and acidic; alcohol warmth; semi-sweet but also with a strong dry finish.
What an immensely intense triple IPA! It brings strong appealing elements visually and to the nose. The taste, though, will really grab you with amazing depth and structure, full of hop fruitiness and bitterness, all riding atop a soft, biscuit-like malt base. This is just one beautiful and incredible beer!

L: A murky pale apricot-orange with three fingers of ivory head settling down to one which climbs the glass but leaves no lace.
S: Mineral notes, citrus, lighter stonefruit and pine. Sweet.
T: Follows the nose in part. The head is sweet and delicious. The taste has a lot of orange candy sugar, a little boozy heat which I find a nice fit in the profle also dominated by pine bitterness and herbal and very spicy notes.
F: Best aspect of the beer, the weight and mouthfeel, while not crushable, it amazingly approachable for the ABV. Very smooth and mellow. Not overbearing as I expected it to be.
O: Different experience than the other review: Tasted no dankness and felt it very bitter on the finish. Really good sweetness all around.
