Holding up really nicely. Traces of oxidation but still getting that abundance of booze-soaked raisin goodness you expect from DWTD. Finishes warm w/ undertones of Caramello candy and torched oak. Glad to finally tick this beast… rest of the set to go!

Pours a deep, walnut-hued body topped with a finger and a half of fluffy, ecru foam; decent head retention yields a spotty few islands of cap, a large, creamy collar, and virtually no lacing clinging to the walls of the glass.
Aromas open to Cognac-flambéed grapefruit met with a brûléed toffee decadence, with rich caramel accents accompanying evolving notes of plum and orange peel into subtler, oaky vanillins.
Taste brings bourbon-laced vanilla and dusty cacao upfront, with burnt sugar edges guiding to a caramel lingering over the mid-palate and smoked toffee contrasting a deft red grapefruit essence fading with the finish.
Mouthfeel offers a medium-full body and a subdued yet creamy carbonation; robustly slick textures settle as a subtle prickle persists over the mid-palate and a warmth eases residual stickiness through the finish.
A playful cognac counter to exhaustive hop syrup yields an evenly melded alchemy of spirited intensity ushering waves of sweetness detailed with an amalgam of fruited accents; a brilliant all-around sipper and a heavyweight of the American Barleywine style.
