The aroma has a great tropical fruit aroma from the Citra.
The flavor has citrus peel, a light leafy bitterness on the back. The beer is very clean from the rice. A hoppy, clean, and very easy drinking brew.

i think this one is a collaboration with crooked stave. on tap at ernies, its a blonde beer brewed with rice and shiso, very cool. as distinct as the flavors are in it, what it lacks for me is any funk, which i though almanac and certainly crooked stave were known for. its a little bland honestly in the yeast department, but im not letting that detract from my overall enjoyment of this very interesting beer. i kind of wanted the shiso to be more robust, such a cool japanese herb, i think its flavor could have been more apparent, instead of just flashing in quick towards the finish. even still, its really cool to see a beer with it, the first that i am aware of to use it anyway. the beer is super light, only a little starchy from the rice, and clean finishing. its super easy drinking stuff, but i think would be twice the beer with some crazy brett complex.
