Pours a slightly foggy bright orange amber color with a creamy frothy off-white foam head that sticks around with decent retention. Smells like tart pumpkin cider, autumn spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, maybe ginger, clove, fresh roasted pumpkins, mild farmhouse funk, peppercorns, hay, straw, wine, oak barrel, bready wheaty malts, sour apple, lemon, and earthy herbal floral hops. Tastes very tart and acidic upfront, sour apple cider, fresh roasted pumpkins, mild autumn spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, oak barrel, toasty hay, straw, mild farmhouse funk, woody peppercorn spice, slight bready wheaty malts, tart apple, acidic lemon, very slightly acetic red wine, hints of leather, vanilla, and earthy herbal floral hop notes. Feels lighter medium bodied, smooth with lively moderate crisp carbonation. Overall a real nice and interesting farmhouse ale aged in oak with roasted heirloom pumpkin and spices.

On tap at PreFunk Boise. Medium amber pour with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is pumpkin pie spice, which carries over to the flavor. A gentle pucker factor also makes an appearance, adding a nice twist to the standard fall "harvest" flavors.

Poured from a bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Slightly hazed copper/amber pour with thin/barely there white head. Modest lacing.
S: Tart and acidic... vinegar and pumpkin pie spice.
T.F: Tart bordering on sour up front. Funk, apple cider vinegar, and earthy notes. The pumpkin pie is subdued but comes in later... with some ginger and cinnamon and pumpkin veggie. Modest sweetness does balance it a bit and it improves in complexity as it warms. Medium to light bodied... a bit fizzy on the carbonation.
O: I think they hit what they were going for.. a brett forward pumpkin ale with some tartness/complexity. Not the most drinkable, but got better the longer I sipped it and I kind of like what they did here.

Bottled Fall 2016, consumed 3/19/18
Into tulip glass, burnt orange/dark gold body, thin layer of white bubbles that fizzes out, no lacing.
Smell was quite pungent out of the bottle during the pour. good amount of pumpkin, all spice, yeastiness, hint of white vinegar, funk, vanilla.
Taste follows the nose with brett funk first and foremost, followed by smooth and light pumpkin pulp, light oakiness, and then another punch of sourness that tastes like green grapes, vinegar, with some nice cinnamon throughout.
Very prickly and medium to high carbonation feel. Medium thickness and viscosity that finishes with a very slight dryness.
Definitely an interesting exchange of flavors throughout. It goes back and forth from a medium intensity sourness and to the light sweetness and spice. Almost gave it a 4.25 on taste but I’m left wanting a little more pumpkin intensity in the taste. That being said, this is very well rounded and complex - I think the 2 years of aging did good for this brew.

375 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled 8/10/16, had 10/24/17.
Pours a clear golden color, with a one and a half inch foamy head and a good amount of foamy lacing. Smells tart and sour. Aromas of yeast, pumpkin, nutmeg, allspice, white wine, grapes, light vinegar, some black pepper when warm, some brett funk. The taste is yeast, malt, a medium sourness, light tartness, pumpkin, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, white grapes, a little oak, light wine, some faint lemon. Smooth, dry, a solid light to medium body, well carbonated.
The pumpkin and spices are subtle overall, but effective. A very good level of sourness and tartness that fits the direction of the beer. Very enjoyable and well worth a purchase, if it comes around again.

Honestly a little hard for me to discern between this beer and the standard Pumpkin Sour. This one hits me as a little lighter and seems to have a bit more of a roasty characteristic to it. Good beer for a southern CA winter, when its still in the 70's outside.

Treated as an American Wild ale, this was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange color with a quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white foamy to bubbly head. No lacing. The aroma starts with pumpkin flesh, light vanilla, then some spice - ginger, allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sour to tart lemon juice/maybe rind (kinda hard to tell). The flavor tries to bring it together, but seems to hit my tastebuds separately. Subtle Brett. I get it and understand why. Aftertaste is quite complex yielding to the sweet pumpkin fleshiness and then the sour fruitiness. Quick semi-sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Low to medium carbonation. Sour / tartness hits appropriately. Overall, damn nice American Wild ale with the pumpkin in it.
