Reminded me of a sangria but with darker fruit. Sour finish after flavors of wine, currant, blueberry, raspberry, and what I can best describe as gummy bear. Dark and sour, thick body to boot. Smell could be a perfume

My very good friend Jon Passow sent this a bottle of this to me in a birthday beer package, as I had my birthday a few weeks ago. Poured into one of my tulip glasses, this beer pours a mainly hazy/cloudy, almost even murky looking, medium to dark copper color with a medium ring of foam lining the inside of the glass along with a little cluster swirl of foam right in the middle of the beer's surface. Aromas of tart, sour funk, and certainly the black currants are all nicely present. The taste is pretty much the same, with a bit of a bready malt, some nice sour funk and tart notes that give way to just a hint of salt and vinegar and of course a fairly strong flavor of the black currant. Very nice flavor profile all around and a good representation of this style I feel. Has a crisp yet also fairly smooth, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish and slightly dry after taste. Quite enjoyable here.

I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the Almanac tasting room.

Appearance: rich, hazy amber hue with a thin layer of ivory foam. Nice.

Smell: nicely tart and nicely sweet with a good blackcurrant aroma. Quite good.

Taste: tart and fruity; the blackcurrant comes through very well but isn't overpowering. It's a tasty beer!

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess. Actually, it's darn good for a sour; they can often be overattenuated.

Overall: I'm a fan of this beer. It's a little sharp due to the souring and the fruit, but it really floats my boat.
