Picked this up during SFBW at Berkeley Bowl, the best singles selection dare I say on the West Coast.
Pours a familiar golden yellow color 2/5" white head. The aroma is indeed woody alongside a noticeable lager yeast. The Cashmere and Sabro hop combination is a different one. Cashmere seemed to be leading the way nose wise, but was still behind the yeast and foedre influence itself. Sabro was not doing Sabro things here. I could see on paper how a little zesty hop alongside the wood could make a cedar like influence, but it just didn't pan out like it sounds on paper. Not quite IPL territory here.
Taste is nice, much as the nose was, this leads with not hoppy things like yeast and wood first. The hopping is complimentary, but at a level that this is staying out of IPL territory, which is nice, allows the nuance and uniqueness of this beer to shine moreso. Appreciate the light wood and woody funk note to it, that is what brought me to the dance marketing wise. Good beer to rock out to once in awhile. Prolly wouldn't buy a 4 pack, but a single every time I see it, sure why not?

A pale lager, it has gone through a stint in the oak barrels, followed by a dry-hopping schedule of Colorado hops. All of this shows up in the final product: lager base, oak character, and bitter notes of the Cashmere hops. The body on this is quite heavy for a lager, and I don't know how I feel about it. Overall though, the final product is strong. At $4 per can, this was not cheap, but I would definitely buy/drink it again.
