Grabbed this and a few other stouts/lagers on a recent work trip to Fort Collins, Colo. Untappd description called it a “White Russian Imperial Stout Brewed with Milk Sugar, Vanilla, Cacao & Coffee.” I bet I’m really going to like this one.
Poured a medium garnet semi-clear color with two fingers of fizzy off-white head, which dissipated quickly. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Average watery lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 3.25)
Smelled bitter dark coffee, cacao, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasty malts, sticky molasses, coffee grounds, semi-char wood, ashtray and dark fruit. Pretty boozy on the nose. About the same from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted about as good as the nose. A little disappointing overall. Got white chocolate, bitter dark coffee, cacao, vanilla, coffee grounds, semi-char wood, hints of ashtray, sticky molasses, plum, dark fruit, caramel and warm chocolate milk. Pretty smooth for 9 pct. ABV. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Pretty disappointed with this one. Was expecting so much more with the description. Just wasn’t quite there. (Overall - 3.50)

16 oz can. Pours orange amber with a medium creamy white head that quickly goes to a thin film that laces the glass some.
The aroma is sweet sugary lactose and vanilla with some roast coffee and a little green apple.
The flavor is very sweet treacly lactose, sugar and vanilla with toasted caramel malt and some roast coffee and alcohol in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, interesting but way too sweet.
