We brewed this refreshing wheat-based lager to honor and accompany one on the most glorious of all household chores; mowing the lawn. Hopped with a blend of Mandarina Bavaria and Tettnanger hops for earthy and fruity flavors and filtered clear for crispness, this beer may even have you pulling some weeds too.

7/3/25 - (Can - DA Home) (Las Vegas, Nevada) Can Notes: $3.24 with tax single can purchase at 8570 W. Sahara Speedee Mart refrigerated, refrigerated here until opening tonight. 16 oz, no can date. 4.2% ABV, 35 IBU Crystal Wheat Lager. Brewed and canned by Engren Brewing Company, Moorpark, California.

Hopped with a blend of Mandarina Bavaria and Tettnanger hops for earthy and fruity flavors and filtered clear for crispness, this beer may even have you pulling some weeds too.
Appearance: Poured close to half the can into a Pilsner glass. This yielded a clear straw golden base and generous creamy bright white head which leaves a 1/2 inch thick creamy pile above the base. 4.25
Aroma: Nice salt and pepper cracker aroma, fresh grassy smell appropriate for this selection. Mike in strength, higher in enjoyment. 3.75
Taste: Flavor a stronger replication of the aroma, fresh pepper salt cracker backed by grass and floral hints. Nice and easy. 3.75
Mouthfeel: Gentle sustained flowing carbonation, drinks at or lower than the light ABV. Balanced, very light drinking, cracker start to finish. 3.5
Overall: This is like a transitory beer for macro drinkers. Light and easy, perhaps to light in the flavor and depth, but I am enjoying. Surprised there weren’t any detected wheat notes. 3.5

I don't think the Euro Lager category is very helpful, but this isn't exactly the Kristallweizen style to my sense. Even though they call it a "Crystal Wheat Lager." In any case, this is clean and crisp with a distinct bitter finish. Even a hint of sourish grain. Sudsy and quaffable with a lively mouthfeel. Quite aromatic with green herbs and that distinctive Euro hop note. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea's Brewing.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a murky light yellow with white fluffy head. Good lacing. The nose is lemon, wheat, vanilla, and a floral note. The taste is light and crisp. Grainy, bread, lemon, vanilla, wheat, orange, and grass. Really nice overall. Dry on the mouthfeel.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: Euro Pale Lager
Glass: Burgeon .5L pilsner glass
Price: $11.99 for a 4-pack
From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 29, 2020
Consumed: Aug. 4, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Went to Bine & Vine for this and The Lightest One (my favorite Helles Lager). Enegren’s website called it, “Meaning lawnmower beer in German. A super refreshing crystal wheat lager.” Bine & Vine’s website called it, “We brewed this refreshing wheat-based lager to honor and accompany one on the most glorious of all household chores; mowing the lawn. Hopped with a blend of Mandarina Bavaria and Tettnanger hops for earthy and fruity flavors and filtered clear for crispness, this beer may even have you pulling some weeds too.” Either way, it’s an Enegren lager so it was going to be great.
Poured a pale yellow clear color with three fingers of rocky, fluffy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass at fast speeds. Outstanding spotty and watery lacing. Perfect, foamy, long-lasting retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled lemon zest, wheat grass, tangerine, floral and some earthy notes. More flavor from the can with lemon and tangerine leading the way, followed by grassy floral. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste was better than the smell from the glass and almost as good as the smell from the can. In order got tangerine, lemon zest, floral, wheat grass, some peppery spice, herbal, Mtn Dew Ice and a touch of earthy malt. Grew on me each sip. Mentioned hops were Mandarina Bavaria and Tettnanger. (Taste - 4.25)
Light body. Lively carbonation. Oily-to-creamy texture. Clean, crisp finish. (Feel - 5.00)
For a Euro Pale Lager, this may have been the best I’ve ever reviewed by a mile. Clean, crisp and flavorful for what it is. Another killer from Enegren. (Overall - 4.25)

Not bad. But it’s one of those things, you know? Like, sure, a lot of super models come from Russia. An abundance, even. So the market is saturated. On the other hand, how many super models come from Samoa, right? And that’s what this obscure style/beer is: it’s a super model from Samoa.

L: Pours a clear deep yellow, with a bit of pure-white head
S: smell is quite faint, hints of typical lager aroma and hops
T: Fresh tasting, a bit herbaceous and more hoppy than a typical lager, has a decent malt backbone, aftertaste isn't the best though.
F: Crisp and refreshing, medium body
O: a decent lightly-hopped and balanced lager
