Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: Keller Bier / Zwickel Bier
Glass: North Park 16-oz. Willi Becher glass
Price: $11.00 for a 4-pack
From: Enegren Brewing Company in Moorpark, Calif.
Purchased: July 10, 2021
Consumed: July 11, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Finally made it to Enegren after my long vacation, something I’d wanted to do for a long time. After having a flight of six tasters (no IPAs on the board!) I left with a 4-pack of this and a shirt. Untappd description was “Freshly fermented, young, unfiltered Keller Helles Lager pulled directly from our primary fermentation tank or barrel.”
Poured a medium yellow clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides and the middle of the glass. Good foggy lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled corn cereal, hay, grass, earthy grain, hints of skunk and Noble hops. Even better out of the can with even more hay/grass. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted just as good as the nose. Got hay, grass, Kix cereal, grain, earthy malt, hints of skunk and Noble hops. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, clean finish. So great going down. (Feel - 5.00)
About as good as I hoped it would be. Just excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
