It is only natural and proper that each year for Independence Day we brew this pilsner with American Liberty hops to pay tribute to the finest country in the history of the world. On the 4th of July we commemorate the birth of this great nation by literally blowing up the night sky, grilling meats, and drinking beer. This is that beer. Give us Liberty Pils or Give Us Death! Happy Birthday America!

7/6/25 - (DA’s Home) (Las Vegas, Nevada) Can Notes: Purchased refrigerated on July 2, 2025 at Speedee Mart on 8570 W. Sahara. Paid $3.24 with tax for a single 16 oz canned 5/27/25, with can stamp Prost! German-Style Pilsner brewed with Liberty Hops, 4.8% ABV, 35 IBU.

On the 4th of July we commemorate the birth of this great nation by literally blowing up the night sky, grilling meats, and drinking beer. This is that beer. Give us Liberty Pils or Give Us Death! Happy Birthday America!
Appearance: Slow poured close to half the 16 oz can into a flute glass, yielding generous creamy soapy lacing over a clear bright straw base. Light sustained carbonation, head finally settles after a few minutes to yield a bubbly thick cover over the base. 4.5
Aroma: Nice bread cracker base, salt and pepper, lemongrass, mineral water. All blends well, full strength and enjoyment. Very nice. 4.5
Taste: Consistent with the above, bread, salt and pepper. Supporting lemon grass and mineral water accentuates. Traditional German Pilsner flavors done well. 4.0
Mouthfeel: Negligible faint carbonation though sustained visually. Drinks below the 4.8% ABV, very light and easy. Lightly dry, balanced. Nice sustained bread pepper flavors start through finish. 4.25
Overall: This is a light and easy German Pilsner packed with flavor expected from this style. This is an expressive offering by Enegren, and I look forward to continuing my journey with a few more pending beers to try. 4.5

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a nice transparent yellow with abundant white head. The nose is lovely. Freshly-cut grass, slight lemon, a hint of leather, wheat, light orange, a bit of oak. Brings me straight back to Germany.
The taste is very nice and largely matches the nose. Bright citrus, grainy, pepper, bread, wheat, and a touch of leather. The hops are there but they don't bring a ton of bitterness. Super smooth and really enjoyable overall. The mouthfeel is light and quite dry. There is a salty + citrus aftertaste.

I had really high hopes for this beer based on the reviews here, but I'm sorry to say I don't love it. The can art is a very German-themed celebration of the USA, but if real Germans tried this beer, I dont know if we'd really have them saying "God Bless America"...
Pours crystal clear pale straw yellow with a bleached white head. Super filtered. Almost no color here. Definitely no haze, and the head dissipates quickly, although it leaves a bit of lacing.
This does hit some of the right hoppy notes for a traditional German pilsener, but it is desperately missing even a hint of malt backbone. Notes of jasmine flowers, hay, black pepper, oregano, and juniper. All hoppy aromas. I feel like I can smell the carbonation on this one. Like a typical macro lager.
Unfortunately, the taste is even more flat and unbalanced than the nose suggests. I do get some hints of earthy crackers, but this is so bitter and dry as to give the impression of oversteeped black tea.
The mouthfeel is very crisp and light, which is this beer's saving grace. You can just drink it quick and move on to a better one.

Holy smokes this is a great Pilsner. Tall can dated best by 05.23.25 that pours a pale yellow. Big straw/hay nose that follows in the flavor with plenty of barn, pollen, and cereal grains. The Liberty hops really add a beautiful finish and feel being bright and fruity. This is so damn crisp and refreshing. Crazy drinkable. Gonna need another 4-pack.

Beautiful beer; crystal clear straw color with long duration of carbonation rising from the bottom of a large, tall pilsner glass. At least 2 fingers white head of medium density and pretty good duration. Not much if any lacing. Malty/ bready goodness along with trace citrus and grass. Clean finish. The perfect beer following a day of yard work in the sun.

16 oz can from Trader Joes
Pours a beautiful straw to light gold. Plentiful white froth pushes damn near 3 fingers high and slowly settles to a solid finger.
Nose is a bright, crisp delivery of gentle herbal spice, some citrus zest, grass , and a light, bread malt note.
Flavor follows the nose with the same order of notes. The herbal spice has a mild pepper note. The citrus is a blend of lemon and orange.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp, good carbonation, and a smooth finish.
Overall, a nice take on style. A great gateway beer to try to tempt friends away from the AAL bilge water that so many are accustomed to.
