A very decent rendition of the new Bavarian O-Fest tradition.
Festbier Looks only slightly above average with a nice bronze and some lasting foam, but not much more invites. Smells follow that mediocrity, mostly malt; but not much else. Tastes take it up a notch, with hops entering mid-palate and increasing their presence with a semi-dry finish. Consistent with style. Medium-mouthed and good bubbles.

My second from Icicle, the first was in 2020 from Tavour. So, I update my micro-reviews when I can. And this one should be as I didn't mention before that Icicle micro continues a late 19th Century brewery in the same area and the micro was started by two women... and they have been in business for almost 14 years. While their cash-cows (IPAs and milk stouts) are not in my wheelhouse, I still recognize tradition and innovation when it is made. Cheers !

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a clear copper with white head that left some lace. The scent had malt and bittering hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp semi sweet malt base with grain, yeast, and bold finish hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
