Pours out with a fairly substantial fluffy head. Aroma is sweet grain, hay, grass, a hint of corn. Taste is more sweet grain, not cloying, actually tasty. Palate / finish is clean. Not too far removed from North Fork.

6-pack picked up tonight at the 16th St. Albertsons... Enjoyed one earlier in the evening, but wanted to give one my undivided attention. Poured into my CBC Teku.. Clear dark straw golden with a nice enough foamy white head and retention/lacing. Grainy pils malt with light sulfur that mostly dissipates with some time in the glass... Pretty sweet on the finish.. Needs more bitterness to balance and some hop flavor to cut through the "verging on cloying" sweetness... Still not bad at all for what it is... But the malty end means I can really only stomach maybe 2 in a sitting.. Tastes like a sweeter PBR... The body and carbonation agree with me.

That said, I LOVE seeing new LOCAL lagers.. and Payette deserves props just for that point alone.
