I'm not a huge fan of Tripels but I found this to be a subtle, yet enjoyable beer. It starts with the tell tale yeast flavors of a Belgian and then moves to more clovey. Light peppercorn subsides to a bubblegum sweetness before it ends with with a light fruity banana.

Pours murky amber. The one inch off-white head fades to a cap and ring on top and leaves thick spotty lace.

The smell is of figs, raisins, barnyard funk and faint tropical fruit.

The taste is of bready grain and sweet dark fruit. What flavors there are, are somewhat subdued and watered down.

The texture is medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Nothing bad but, nothing exceptional going on here either. Sort of like a "Belgian Dubbel Light". I will say that this drinks dangerously easy considering its 8.8 ABV.

Cloudy amber color withnice fizzy and decent lacing. Aromas of dark fruits and some stone fruits. Lots of sweet malts, yeast and some citrus and raisins in the taste. Also getting some dry spice, cardomon, clove. Finishes relatively clean

Enjoyed from a bomber, this fine Belgian dark pours a hazy brownish orange with a nice thick off white head that dies down to pooling thin foam and light lacing. Nose of figs, dark plums, orange zest, and brown sugar. Flavors are sweet malts up front with warming alcohol, orange flavors to the sides and dark fruits to the back. Nice mouth feel, moderate carbonation, and a nice malty aftertaste makes this a fine example of the style done right in America.

Cheers
