This brew is cloudy and pours clean with a golden... honey color. The carbination is low, but there is a crisp finish to each drink. The flavor is complex with notes of honey, a woody vanilla, spice, and sour hops. Medium bodied and easy drinking, but with plenty to tempt the tongue.

Appearance: deep gold/ light amber, large white to slightly off-white head that fades quickly but leaves lots of lacing, brilliant clarity

Smell: Amazing! Huge hit of honey-like aroma that has a cinnamon-vanilla-like quality, reminiscent of cinnamon toast crunch, some bready and caramel malt sweetness round it out.

Taste: Sweet honey and spicy flavors from the mesquite lead the way, caramel and bready malt, with just a hint of hop bitterness and acidity in the finish to round it out and keep it balanced. An interesting fruity/spicy flavor (from the mesquite, I'm guessing) lingers after each sip.

Mouthfeel: medium body (maybe medium-high), but still crisp and easy drinking. moderate carbonation.

Overall: The more I drink this one, the more I like it. Unlike the only other mesquite bean beer I've tried (Cerveza de Mezquite from Jester King), this one has a definite mesquite aroma and flavor that really stand out. I suspect the unique character may not be for everyone, but personally I love how flavorful this one is given the moderate ABV - definitely one to drink when you want tons of flavor without getting smashed.

I had the Honey Blonde at Texas Station in Grapevine. This is the sports bar in the Gaylord complex.

Served in a pint glass, the beer is gold with a skim of an off-whitehead.

The beer smells like it will be sweet. There is some grains and floral notes.

The beer is not as sweet as I thought it would be from the smell. It is grainy with soft honey and plum notes. There is some hops which and spice and floral notes that give the beer some balance.

The mouth is on the lighter side of medium with some crisp carbonation.

This would be a nice hot weather beer and a good crossover beer for BMC drinkers
