It has been a tough day for you, or week, or month. You have been working hard and you just need ten minutes to unplug and reset. You crave something crisp, fluffy and citrusy – something bright and delicate with a hint of tropical flowers. Something with a little zip but not too much oomph. Maybe a Ping Pong Break is in order. Farmhouse table beer with lime zest and dry-hopped with Motueka.

Pale gold in color with a quarter inch of dishwater white on top. Vibrant carbonation bubbles are within the beer. The aroma is of lime and saison yeast. I’m tasting lime and pale malt. The mouth offers moderate carbonation.

Bought two cans from Beer Drop. The first was good; but, I also was expecting more from these two accomplished micros specializing in the saison/wild/farmhouse field. (Ping Pong is a collaboration with Crooked Staved.) Personally, the lime was a bit strong and I think this might have weakened the yeast so it couldn't produce the subtle fruits that I most appreciate in the saison.
Ping Bong Looks a bit like dishwater when compared to the best saisons... needs an active foam. Smells are better and more inviting; but again, the lime is the dominant note. Tastes are balanced, nothing too tart to complement food. Cleansing and medium-mouthed.
12/13/21 For the second can, I really don't think I missed much in the above edited review. I like Perennial and am glad that they made it to ten years of bringing even more culture to St. Louis. But to reinforce the above review, this saison has too much lime to be versatile at the table. But, counting over @ UnTappd.

16oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It left some sudsy lace on the glass. It smelled of lime, caramel, yeastiness and some spices. Lots of tart lime taste with some sweetness, caramel and toffee.
