Rich and complex, this amber-colored lager is smooth and clean due to a cool fifty-degree fermentation, mellowing as it lagers. Well-balanced with a hint of hops presence, Oktoberfest is focused on the grain bill of Vienna, Munich, Caramunich, Pilsen, and Melanoidin malts.

5.8% Marzen that’s malt forward in aroma and taste with hints of sweetness. Nice touch of hops in the finish. Good looking beer that pours a lovely amber-orange with excellent initial head and good lacing throughout.

Canned on 7/17/23; consumed on 11/4/23
Pours a slightly foggy, golden copper body capped with over two fingers of fluffy, nearly eggshell-white foam; good head retention leaves a slim layer of cap, modest, soapy collar, and decent spread of sudsy, webby lacing around the walls of the glass.
Aromas of brown bread and minerality open, with a hint of yeast yielding an autumnal air as brown sugar undertones progress through caramel malts over the bouquet.
Taste offers brown toast sporting a hint of brown sugar upfront, imbuing the mid-palate with a malted grain sweetness before tinges of minerality and a light lager yeast profile settles on the back end.
Mouthfeel brings a light body and a rounded, fluffy spritz of moderate-full carbonation, dissipating to subtly flaky texturing and a semi-dry mid-palate as firmer toastiness through the back end yields a crisp finish.
A solid base veers sweet enough to disjoint the profile as a whole, leaving choppy inflections of earthy sweetness coating the more nuanced malt balance; little beyond decent.

Crystal clear, retention was pretty nice for a while…it has a mostly bready richness to it that remains almost entirely dry, light toasted quality, just enough hops to let you know they are there, low but noticeable bitterness, incredibly drinkable beer.
