We take our dark, slightly sweet, and full-bodied stout and condition it on locally-roasted coffee from Avalon Coffee. A complex grain bill of pilsner, carafa, caramunich, roasted barley and oats make up the heart of Wakey Wakey Coffee Stout, which pairs perfectly with the soft nutty and cocoa notes of Avalon’s Latin American-leaning house blend. Whether consumed as a delightful dessert beer or an arousing breakfast beer, Wakey Wakey Coffee Stout is one of our favorites.

Dark black color with a bit of khaki head
Smells of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate
Taste is similar to the nose, coffee and roasted malts with hints of chocolate.
A bit thin with light carbonation.
Overall, a decent low ABV coffee stout.

On tap in a stemmed stout glass.
It's very dark brown, nearly black, with a sturdy cocoa tan colored head. Ring and spot lacing, some bubbles.
Strong coffee, fresh and spiced. Roasted malts with roasted coffee.
There's a roasted and light malt bill under the coffee flavor, its bite underscoring the Latin influence. Just a touch of chocolate.
Fresh and smooth with a feel that's bolder than the 4.3% abv.
I like stouts - and really like flavorful stouts that are drink friendly - like this one.
