Cape May Brewing Company
New Jersey, United States | website

Style: Hefeweizen

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.20%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Sorry we’re not sorry — this brew is NOT a cider. Say what!?!? A wheat beer brewed with bready and biscuity malts, it’s bombed with loads of apple juice during a second fermentation. It’s a tart twist on tasty tall tentacles. Say that ten times fast.

Had on tap a the brewery.
Pours a hazy yellow. Smells of a slight apple tartness with underlying notes of a juicy sweetness. The beer has a medium body with a dry finish. Taste is unsweetened apple juice leaning more towards tart and bitter than sweet and succulent.

a golden/copper pour (a slight haze) with a finger of head which quickly dissipated. smells of wheat, sweet bready malt, apples, caramel. a nice apple pie spice flavor up front, lots of bready flavor from the grain bill, a sweet apple flavor throughout. the abv is extremely hidden, and this beer is pretty damn refreshing. medium body with a decent amount of carbonation - dry finish makes it very satisfying in this heat.

i have never had a heavy hefeweizen... this is borderline wheat wine with the abv, however it tastes like a light hefe and drinks like one too. a very sneaky buzz!!!
